    • An analog watch has a casing and a watch dial supported by the casing. The casing has indicia thereon comprising numerals and index hour markers arranged in consecutive order so as to represent time in hours and minutes. The analog watch has a concentric shaft device comprising a plurality of concentrically arranged shafts. The analog watch includes an hour hand connected to one of the shafts such that the hour hand can rotate over the watch dial, a first stepper motor to drive the shaft to which the hour hand is connected, a minute hand connected to one of the shafts such that the minute hand can rotate over the watch dial, a second stepper motor to drive the shaft to which the minute hand is connected, a multi-function hand connected to one of the shafts such that the multi-function hand can rotate over the watch dial, and a third stepper motor to drive the shaft to which the multi-function hand is connected. The analog watch has a microcontroller having a plurality inputs and outputs, a Real Time Clock, a memory, a digital signal processor and CPU. The microcontroller outputs separate control signals to control the first, second and third stepper motors so as to control movement of the hour hand, minute hand and multi-function hand. The analog watch includes a Bluetooth® circuit in electronic signal communication with the microcontroller. The Bluetooth® circuit is configured to be discovered by and paired with a Bluetooth® communication device so as to create a Bluetooth® communication link that enables the Bluetooth® circuit to receive RF signals from the Bluetooth® communication device. The Bluetooth® circuit converts the received RF signals into digital signals for input to the microcontroller. The digital signals define the date and time in a present time zone and a desired mode of operation of the analog watch that defines the function of the multi-function hand. The microcontroller processes the digital signals to adjust or set the Real Time Clock to the current date and time and to control the movement of the hour and minute hands in accordance with the Real Time Clock and to control the movement of the multi-function hand in accordance with the desired mode of operation.

    • A timepiece is set by transmission of a time related signal which is received by the timepiece and converted into digital form. The circuit developing signals representing the time displayed by the timepiece is stepped more rapidly than normal and simultaneously compared with the time related signal until they compare at which time the rapid stepping of the timepiece is abruptly terminated and normal stepping of the timepiece is resumed. The carrier may be any supersonic frequency. Setting of the timepiece may be enabled only after operating a time check switch.
      The above technique may be employed to produce an alarm at a requested time to serve as a memory or wake-up aid, for example.

    • An interactive device having time synchronization capability is provided. In one embodiment of the present invention, the interactive device has a computer processor that stores an internal clock. The computer processor may be preprogrammed to generate announcements based on a particular time of the internal clock. A user may input and adjust the time of the internal clock. In another embodiment of the present invention a setup module is provided. A setup module is an operative device that includes a computer processor that stores a setup time. The setup module establishes a connection with an interactive device, and time synchronizes the interactive device such that the internal clock of the interactive device is running the same time as the setup module. The setup module is capable of synchronizing the internal clock of multiple interactive devices, despite the interactive devices being programmed on separate occasions. In addition, the setup module is capable of programming a number of interactive devices in a quick and efficient manner, thereby keeping the manufacturer's costs low. The computer processor of the interactive device runs a software program which enables the interactive device to be synchronized by the setup module via a hard-wired connection or wireless means such as infrared (IR) and/or radio frequency (RF) signals.
