    • A target member which may be used in conjunction with sporting activities, such as archery, comprising a housing (20, 21) having an outer surface which forms a portion of a target during use, the outer surface having an aperture (18) therein. The target member also comprises a degradable component (22) which is positionable within said housing such that at least a portion of said second component is exposed by said aperture (18). The exposed portion of said degradable component (22) forms part of the target and the degradable component (22) is repositionable upon degradation of the exposed portion through use of the target so as to expose a further portion of said second component (22) by said aperture (18) for further use.

    • A target frame apparatus composed of a self-healing plastic with four corner pieces suitably adapted to fit two hollow vertical rails and two horizontal hollow rails (all of equal length) to make a square or rectangular shape. An alternative version of the target frame additionally employs two T-connector units and a third horizontal rail to allow smaller silhouette targets to be placed within the target frame. The target frame also contains strategically placed holes and means to allow the frame to be attached to a target and the entire target and frame to then be attached to a vertical support structure. This target frame system is adjustable for use with different sizes of targets and vertical support structures.

    • Disclosed are targets devices and method of using the target devices for electronically determining the location of projectile impacts on the surface of a target. The impact location is determined in a number of ways, including by use of a plurality of accelerometers or piezo-vibration sensors to determine the impact area and transmit data relating to the impact to a remote receiver for real-time presentation to the shooter. The method enables the shooting position to be determined by means of relatively economical electronic systems and the shooting target is portable such that the shooter may bring the target to a plurality of firing ranges and locations to convey the same real-time reporting and benefits to the shooter. The shooting target may be set-up on a standard target stand to wirelessly relay shot impact information to a portable personal computing device to present real-time virtual impact data to the shooter. This data can then be stored and categorized given user-selected inputs and shared with other shooters in an online forum.
