    • The specification discloses a seal member for selectively completing a fluid passageway defined between an upstream member and a downstream member separated by an intermediate space, the seal member comprising an elongate stem portion dimensioned to be movably positionable in an opening defined through the upstream member between opposite first and second surfaces thereof, the elongate stem portion having provided at one end thereof a resiliency deformable, radially-extending flange and at the other end thereof a sealing face, and a fluid passageway defined through the stem portion between the flange and the sealing face. The flange is deformable under fluid pressure to increase the area of contact between the flange and the first surface of the upstream member and to simultaneously move the stem portion within the opening defined in the upstream member so as to bring the sealing face into sealing contact with an opposing surface of the downstream member across the intermediate space.

    • Disclosed is an adapter for branching a hose, in which a plurality of manifolds are connected to a flexible hose to diverge fluid passing though the hose to various direction. The present invention provides adapters of a first aspect related to a head of the adapter for branching a hose and its modifications, in which the head is inserted into one of holes formed at the hose, and a second aspect related to an inserting unit of the head of the adapter for branching a hose and its modifications such that the head can be easily inserted to one of the holes of the hose. The adapter includes a body shaped as a pipe, a head and a coupling unit. The body includes a passage therein, an inlet inserted into the hose, and an outlet connected to the manifold, which is pro-truded from the hose when the adapter is installed to the hose. The head formed at the inlet side of the body is insertedly connected to the hole of the hose. The coupling unit is formed at the outer surface of the body. The adapter can be easily connected to even a flat folded hose and can prevent fluid from leaking based on tight sealing.

    • In order to make a cartridge usable for different sealing systems, a cartridge base is proposed into whose opening, which serves the passage of water into the valve system contained in the cartridge, a sleeve can be inserted. The sleeve juts beyond that end face of the cartridge base which faces the fitting housing, into the fitting housing. Between the radial outer side and a recess in the fitting housing, a seal can be placed. The cartridge base can also be used for those cases where a sealing system is already present in the fitting housing. In this case, the sleeve is simply removed.

    • An expansion ring assembly for sealing a gasket within an opening in the wall of a structure, the assembly including a drive mechanism having a pair of block members each having a threaded bore, and a bolt having oppositely threaded ends respectively threaded within the bores. The block members are removably engaged with respective ends of the expansion ring. An oversleeve is disposed in overlapping relationship with the expansion ring ends, and the expansion ring ends and the oversleeve include cooperating ratcheting structures. Rotation of the bolt of the drive mechanism in a first direction causes the block members to move outwardly along the bolt to expand the expansion ring and concurrently sequentially engage the ratcheting structures of the expansion ring ends and the oversleeve. Once the expansion ring is expanded to a desired extent, the bolt of the drive mechanism may be rotated in a second direction opposite the first direction to move the block members inwardly along the bolt and allow disengagement of the block members from the expansion ring ends and removal of the drive mechanism. The expansion ring ends are maintained in their expanded condition by the engagement of the ratcheting structures of the expansion ring ends and the oversleeve. In another embodiment, overlapping ends of the expansion ring have ratcheting structure therebetween, and are driven apart by the removable the drive mechanism, wherein the oversleeve member is eliminated.
