摘要： A device for plugging an axially-aligned bore in a shaft of a gas turbine engine comprises a plug. A sealing body of the plug is sealingly received in a bore of the shaft. Legs project from the sealing body and are displaceable between a normally contracted position in which the legs are radially inward relative to a periphery of the bore, and a deployed position in which the legs project radially outward and engage with shaft projections within the bore of the shaft. A wedge is operatively engaged to the plug for movement of the wedge relative to the plug. The wedge comprises a portion in operative contact with the legs of the plug unit to displace the legs between positions as a response to movement of the wedge. A gas turbine engine and a method for plugging a shaft are provided.

摘要： A rotor shaft adapted to rotate about a rotor axis thereof. The rotor shaft includes a rotor cavity configured concentrically to the rotor axis inside the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft further includes a plurality of cooling bores extending radially outward from the rotor cavity to feed cooling air into an internal cooling system in a blade. Each cooling bore includes a bore inlet portion and a distal bore outlet portion. The respective bore inlet portion ends in a plateau, projecting above the outer circumference contour of the rotor cavity. Thus, cooling bore inlets are shifted to a low stress area and the lifetime of the rotor is improved.

摘要： For the manufacture of a tubular low-pressure turbine shaft made of a fiber-composite material with metallic driven/driving protrusions (2) attached to its ends, the fiber material is wound onto a winding core (4) provided in the form of a closed tube and made of high-strength material and onto a conically tapered adapter (3) formed on the driven/driving protrusion. By expanding the winding core with a pressurized liquid medium, the fiber material embedded in a synthetic resin is compacted as a function of the design of the winding body and the liquid pressure. Upon curing of the synthetic resin at elevated temperature the winding core is pressure-relieved and removed with reduced diameter.
