摘要： A fencing system includes a vertically elongated post mount mountable on a foundation and one or more post inserts mounted on the post mount to provide a stable structure for fastening thereto rail mounting brackets and associated rails. Each post insert extends outwardly from the post mount and typically abuts an inner surface of a hollow post. Fasteners extend from the rail mounting bracket through the post and into the post insert to provide a strong connection for the mounting of the rail mounting bracket and rail. The post inserts may be mounted on the post mount without tools. One of the post inserts serves as a spacer for setting the height of associated rail mounting brackets and rails. The spacer may include two members which are removably connected to one another via a friction fit to provide various benefits.

摘要： The present invention provides a structural decorative member which could be made of a different type of material, such as wood, plastic and metal, and serve as a supporting element in a construction field, such as a baluster for a railing, as well as a supporting peace of an article of a furniture, such as a leg for a decorative chair or a table. The structural member comprises a core made of one type of material and at least one sleeve made of another type of material, which is adhered on a top and surrounding said core. The core and the surrounding sleeve each has predetermined dimensions and a geometric shape complimenting each other. At least one circumferential groove of a preselected length and a depth, as well as a geometric shape, which is sufficient to reveal a portion of the core, is formed on a surface of the member. The groove defines a respective shoulder of predetermined geometric shape and dimensions. The number of grooves is determined by a favorable decorative pattern to be created on the surface. As the result, grooves and the respective shoulders form the variety of multi-colored and/or multi-shaped decorative patterns.

The assembly includes a base, an arm pivotally mounted on the base and a marker disposed on the base. An assigned point on the arm lines up with the marker if the post is vertical and does not line up with the marker if the post is not vertical. In order for an installer to install a vertical post, the post is positioned initially in an approximately vertical position, the installer moves the post to the left or right until the assigned point on the arm aligns with the marker. The post is then permanently fixed into place.

The interior column is anchored to a base that is mountable to a floor, ceiling or other support structure. The base has one or more vertical uprights configured to support the interior column and/or shell. The interior column is supported in a socket in the base. The column may be secured to the base by a latch that positively engages the column and the socket. The latch operates independently of any weight bearing down on the column. The column may be secured to both the floor and the ceiling by latches that cooperate with bases on both ends of the column. An optional trim with interlocking pieces may be installed around the shell to provide a decorative transition where the post mounts to a floor, ceiling or other structure.

A guard rail assembly includes a top rail portion which extends adjacent at least one side of the access aperture to provide a guard rail. An angled portion extends at a non-orthogonal angle to provide a hand grip surface for a user passing through the access aperture. A front leg segment supports an end of the angled portion opposite the top rail portion. Preferably, a rear leg segment supports the top rail portion to form a first side rail assembly. A second, nominally identical side rail assembly adjoins the first side rail assembly to form a substantially u-shaped top rail surface that surrounds the access aperture on three sides.
