摘要： In a device for filling moulds for compression moulding of plastic objects, pre-set doses of fluid plastic material are introduced into dispensing devices (8) that slide over a filling channel (12). The pre-set dose is expelled from the chamber (9) of a mould (2) by lowering the piston (10). Detachment of the dose of hot plastic material from the walls of the chamber (9) is facilitated by cooling the walls themselves, which are appropriately smoothed. Likewise described is a method for carrying out filling of moulds using the device described above.

摘要： A sealant applying machine for applying sealant to can lid members comprising a plurality of circumferential spaced sealant applying stations whereat sealant material is applied to a lid member and a rotatable carriage means for supporting and carrying the stations around the machine. Each station comprises a lid holding means for holding and rotating a lid member during application of sealant material to the lid member, a sealant dispensing means mounted adjacent the lid holding means for applying sealant material to the lid member, and mounting means for holding the sealant dispensing means in fixed, non-movable relationship to the lid holding means during application of sealant material to the lid member. A nozzle means (104) has a sealant dispensing opening, a needle valve seat surface and spring biased needle (102) and a sealant flow passage for enabling flow of sealant material onto the lid member. A needle valve actuator solenoid means (108) is mounted in the intermediate housing portion and is operatively connected to the needle valve.

摘要： A system (10) and method for forming an article from thermoplastic material and fiber. The method includes heating thermoplastic material to form a molten thermoplastic material for blending with the fiber. The molten thermoplastic material is blended with the fibers to form a molten composite material having a concentration of fiber by weight. The molten composite material may then be extruded through dynamic dies (16) to deliver discrete controlled material that is gravitated onto a lower portion of a mold (19). The lower portion of the mold (19) may be moved in space and time while receiving the flow of composite material to deposit a predetermined quantity of molten composite material thereon conforming to mold cavities of the lower and an upper portion of the mold (19, 23). The upper portion (23) of the mold may be pressed against the predetermined quantity of molten composite material and closing on the lower portion of the mold (19) to form the article.

摘要： The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a layer (7) over a surface (6) from a liquid or viscous plastic (8) which solidifies once the layer (7) is formed, characterized in that the plastic (8) is introduced in liquid or viscous form into a reservoir (2) of variable volume, at least part of the inner wall of which is defined by a portion of the said surface (6); the reservoir (2) and the surface (6) are moved relative to each other while simultaneously decreasing the volume of the reservoir (2) so as to compress the plastic (8) and make it flow through a passage (9) connecting two surface portions placed respectively inside and outside the reservoir (2), the rate of flow of the plastic (8) through the passage (9) being chosen so as to form a layer (7) over one of the said surface portions (6) whose thickness (e) is less than the height of the said passage (E).
