The cavity may be defined in part by a recess that comprises a surface which may be used to guide the straining element as it is inserted into the cavity. The recess may form a dome. The recess, when viewed cross sectionally, may have a linear segment and a curvilinear segment. A rounded protrusion may be created on an outer surface of the body as a result of the recess.

摘要： A filtering assembly is laid flat on an outer shroud. An inner drainage layer is set over the filtering assembly while laid flat such that the inner drainage layer overlaps the filtering assembly. The inner drainage layer is sealed and secured to the outer shroud by diffusion bonding or welding while overlaying the filtering assembly. With the filtering assembly held firm between the inner drainage layer and the outer shroud a spiral winding procedure is commenced to roll the flat assembly into a cylindrical shape. The edges are sealed by welding or diffusion bonding. The spiral winding and seam closure can be done on a perforated base pipe or the base pipe can be inserted into the finished assembly at a later time and secured. Alternatively the filtering assembly and outer shroud, with or without the drainage layer can be wound over a perforated base pipe or a complete screen assembly.

摘要： A fuel filter for the fueling system of a motor vehicle has a non-conductive housing defining a chamber in which porous sintered plastic discs are mounted transversely across the chamber defined by the housing. The discs are of graduated porosity, and tend to strip electrons from the hydrocarbon paraffin of which the fuel consists. The charges generated by the stripping are neutralized by the positive ions generated by an adjacent disc.
