摘要： A method for plasma treatment of flowable waste comprising the steps of : - supplying an oxidizing gas to and heating it in a plasma generator, - feeding the so heated oxidizing gas and the waste to a mixing zone, - volatilizing possible water in the waste, - oxidizing organic material (s) in the waste to carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and water vapour, - melting and oxidizing inorganic material (s) in the waste to corresponding oxide (s) so as to form a slag product, - separating and collecting the slag product in a separator, - quenching the gases from the separator in a quenching chamber whereby melted particles in the gas is quenched by gas quenching so fast and to such an extent that they will not adhere to the walls of the quenching chamber, - removing particles and dust from the quenched gases in at least one filter, and - cooling possible formed steam to water in at least one condenser.

摘要： To dispose of hazardous materials, for instance chlorinated compounds such as PCBs, or of materials polluted with such compounds, it is proposed to utilize the technological capabilities of already known high-temperature processes; in particular, it is proposed to utilize the technologies with high thermal production and capacity, such as the well known treatment of iron-based baths in an electric furnace, to keep the polluting materials and their cracking and oxidation derivatives at high temperature for a time sufficient to ensure their complete destruction. The end products of the treatment according to the invention, still containing aggressive molecules such as HCl, are further treated in conventional ways, for instance with calcium hydroxide.

摘要： A material treatment process, and particularly such a process for the destruction of waste material. The process involves pyrolysis of waste material within a plasma torch and a hot zone which receives the material stream from the torch. Waste material is injected into the torch as a fine spray and/or as a gas, and the direction of injection is generally transverse to the direction of movement of the plasma through the torch. The location of the injection is such that the waste material is injected directly into the core of the plasma. The hot zone is of a length such as to ensure complete pyrolysis of the material, and that zone is immediately followed by a cooling zone in which the material is subjected to very rapid quenching. The material stream entering the cooling zone is at a temperature above that at which CO in the material stream tends to re-form into CO2 in the material stream includes particulate carbon which is used to absorb residual toxic compounds when the material is subjected to an alkaline environment within the cooling zone and/or a scrubber following that zone.

摘要： An accelerated process for the complete destruction of a matrix material, such as a matrix material including cement and/or asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), is disclosed. The process comprises forming a slurry or suspension by combining the matrix material with an acid solution (including, for instance, acid waste, which can also be neutralized by the process), causing acid-based chemical reactions in the slurry that cause the destruction of the matrix material. Simultaneously to the chemical reactions, the slurry or suspension is subjected to cavitation, which synergistically cooperates with the chemical reactions to accelerate matrix material destruction. The matrix material can be ground and polarized prior to being submerged in the acid solution to form the slurry. The slurry can be subjected to hydrothermal treatment. Inert secondary raw materials (SRMs) that are non-hazardous to the environment and human health can be obtained from the process.

摘要： A two step process for the destruction of a precursor material using a steam plasma in a three zone reactor wherein the precursor material is hydrolyzed as a first step in the high temperature zone of the reactor, followed by a second step of medium temperature oxidation of the reactant stream in the combustion zone of the reactor where combustion oxygen or air is injected and immediate quenching of the resulting gas stream to avoid the formation of unwanted by-products. A related apparatus includes a non transferred direct current steam plasma torch, an externally cooled three zone steam plasma reactor means for introducing the precursor material into the plasma plume of the plasma torch, means for introducing the combustion air or oxygen into the combustion zone, means for exiting the reactant mixture from the reactor and means for quenching the reactant mixture located at the exit end of the reactor.

摘要： A method of using high temperature plasma to disintegrate waste containing titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc) comprises heating a mixture of titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc), a vitrifying material and selected waste soil to a temperature of 1,220° C. to 10,000° C. until the mixture becomes molten lava. The plasma breaks down the titanyl phthalocyanine and encapsulates the benign products in the lava that is chemically very stable. Since the titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc) is disintegrated completely in the process, the titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc) no longer represents a threat to the environmental.
