摘要： The Chest-positioner/pad Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation System (CCPRS) provides improved resuscitation during one-person or two-person CPR. The simple, compact, portable and cost-effective system provides for manual, mechanical or electrical driven external chest compressions via a socket connection to a chest-positioner/pad unit. The chest-positioner/pad unit provides greater control of compression positioning providing adequate and reproducible chest compressions while preventing rib fractures and damage to vital internal organs. A module gives providers feedback to enable a provider to apply an appropriate compressive force in an appropriate direction, recurringly under emergency conditions. The present invention also provides improved blood circulation, oxygenation and gas exchange by expanding the chest past its normal relaxation point during diastole. Providers are able to administer adequate CPR for longer periods of time with reduced or minimal effort while improving survivability of cardiac arrest victims.

摘要： A device for performing active compression/decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation includes an applicator body with an upper surface and a lower surface. The lower surface includes provisions for detachably securing to the patient's chest, such as a vacuum cup or an adhesive layer. For manual resuscitation, the upper surface will include a strap or other structure for securing a performer's hand thereto. In an exemplary device, a disc-shaped handle is attached to the upper surface of a vacuum cup applicator by a short connecting stem structure. A pressure gauge mounted to the handle permits the performer to monitor how much force is being applied in both the compression and decompression phases. For automatic applications, a mechanical drive member will be secured to the upper surface. By alternately pressing and lifting on the applicator device, the patient's chest can be compressed and expanded to improve induced ventilation and circulation.

Force is applied by the rescuer onto the cushion and the pressure gauge displays the force applied so as to enable the rescuer to observe and control the force being applied to the patient's chest. A timer may also be provided with the pressure gauge to enable the rescuer to properly time the application and release of force to the patient's chest.
