    • A juice-extractor also serving as a grinder suitable for extracting juice from water-containing materials, such as vegetables, fruits, soybeans, and for grinding dry material into powder, such as coffee beans, green beans, nuts. In addition to elements similar to that of a juice-extractor, such as the funnel, the top cover, the lower grinding disc, the meshes-containing filter, the residue collector, the juice flow guider, and the base, the grinder also includes a bag made of air-pervious fabric and a rotational retainer having a closed side wall. When the juice-extractor is to serve as a grinder to grind a dry material into powder, the air-pervious bag is used to replace the residue collector and the rotaional retainer is used to replace the meshes-containing filter, so that powder produced from the grinding can be directly sent into the bag instead of the juice flow guider.

    • This invention relates to a coffee mill which comprises two grinding devices, each device being formed of a fixed annular grinder (1,1') and a rotary annular grinder (3,3') which are mounted in opposition the one to the other. The grinding devices are coaxially superposed. The rotary grinders (3,3') of the two devices are rotated by a single axle (5,5') connected to a single driving motor (M) with a double rotation direction, and the cutting means of one of the pairs of grinders are oriented for a right hand cutting, whereas those of the other pair of grinders are oriented for a lefthand cutting.

    • A coffee grinder grinds a predetermined amount of roasted coffee beans based upon the weight of the beans. The beans fall from a hopper into a grinding head which grinds the beans in a two-stage process. The first stage includes a cracking cutter, consisting of a cone cutter and a reel cutter, which reduces the beans to an initial particle size of approximately 1/16 of an inch in cross-section. The particles are then progressed by the grinding head, for the second stage of fine grinding, to an adjustable micro grinder consisting of two opposing rings having micro teeth on their inwardly facing surfaces. The cutters and grinder rings are mounted on thermally conductive metal hubs and a fan draws air around and behind the cutting teeth to cool them and avoid heating the coffee particles during the grinding process.
