    • A four-wheel drive automobile has a driving system which includes a transversely oriented engine unit, a transmission having input and output shafts which extend transversely of the car body, an inter-axle differential gear mechanism, front and rear inter-wheel differential gear mechanisms, and a differential gear lock mechanism. The inter-axle differential gear mechanism, the front inter-wheel differential gear mechanism and the differential gear lock mechanism are arranged coaxially with one another. The differential gear lock mechanism is provided in a part of said inter-axle differential gear mechanism which is positioned at a side of the front differential gear mechanism so that the front differential gear mechanism is located between inter-axle differential gear mechanism and the differential gear lock mechanism.

    • A fan motor driving circuit controls an energized state of a fan motor by performing on and off control of a switching circuit connected to a coil of the fan motor of a driving object. A variable reference voltage circuit generates a voltage whose voltage level changes with time by charging or discharging a capacitor at the start of starting up the fan motor. A drive signal combining unit generates drive signals on the basis of the voltage when at least starting up, and performs on and off control of the switching circuit by the drive signals. An initialization circuit initializes the capacitor before starting up with a transition from off to on of a power supply voltage to be supplied to the fan motor driving circuit as a turning point.

    • A drive circuit of a fan motor is provided. In an embodiment of the drive circuit, a first PWM comparator compares a temperature detection voltage with a cyclic voltage, and outputs a first PWM signal. A second PWM comparator compares a minimum frequency setting voltage indicating a minimum frequency of the fan motor, with the cyclic voltage, and outputs a second PWM signal. The drive circuit combines the first PWM signal and the second PWM signal by a logical operation, to drive the fan motor. The drive circuit includes a first logic gate which generates a logical sum of the first PWM signal and the second PWM signal, and a second logic gate which generates a logical product of the first PWM signal and an inverted signal of the second PWM signal. The drive circuit switches drive mode based on the first logic gate and the second logic gate.

    • The inverter according to the invention includes a control microcomputer including a protector circuit that stops the inverter when an anomaly is caused, a counter that counts the driving clock signals of the microcomputer from the instance at which the protector circuit starts working, and a conversion circuit that converts the clock signals counted by the counter to a numerical time expression in the time units and outputs the converted numerical time expression. The inverter according to the invention, manufacturable with low manufacturing costs and easy to operate, facilitates informing the installation manager of the period of time from the instance at which the inverter stopped due to an anomaly and such a cause, without impairing the time measurement precision.
