    • A decrease in the lift-up degree of the outflow end of a slider at an altitude of 3,000 m is set to be less than 2 nm or to be zero in order to set the lift-up degree of the outflow end to be less than 10 nm. There is provided a magnetic disc apparatus in which the action point of positive pressure is shifted toward the inflow end but the action point of negative pressure is shifted toward the outflow end so as to enhance the influence upon the outflow end by the negative pressure in order to effect an action in the increasing direction of the lift-up degree of the outflow end when the pressure is reduced. Further, it is possible to increase the lift-up degree of the outflow end when the pressure is decreased. The action point of the equivalent load is offset from the action point of positive pressure toward the inflow end, and the distance between the action point of the positive pressure and the action point of the equivalent load point is set to be greater than 0.1 times as large as the overall slider length.

    • A tapered roller bearing having an inner ring and an outer ring, each respectively having a tapered race, a plurality of tapered rollers, a cage which retains the tapered rollers at an even interval in the circumferential direction and first and second seals. Lubrication is accomplished by supplying lubricating oil to this bearing in the one direction, so that only the lubricating oil passes through the bearing and penetration of foreign matter contained in the lubricating oil to the bearing is prevented by the seals.

    • A bearing arrangement for a wheel of a vehicle is provided, comprising a cylindrical hub integrally formed with a flange connected to the wheel, extending axially outward enclosed in a second flange. The second flange further encloses a bearing seat proximate the hub, and a double row anti-friction bearing including roller elements travelling in a single outer race and twin inner races. The union between the second flange and the cylindrical hub forms a shoulder containing at least two grooves. The grooves are configured to receive a removal tool, used to pry the inner races away from the hub. The diameter of the shoulder can either be equal to or larger than the diameter of the inner race. The strength of the hub can thus be enhanced without increasing the pressure on the races, maintaining easy removal capability.
