    • A portable terminal includes a first body having input keys located on a front surface, and a second body having a display located on a front surface. Guides are separately located at each side of the second body, and a hinge structure is located at one end of the first body for coupling to the second body, such that the hinge structure is sized to be slidably received within the guides. In addition, a method of assembling a portable terminal includes locating input keys on a front surface of a first body, locating a display on a front surface of a second body, and forming a guide along two separate sides of the second body. The method also includes positioning a hinge structure at one end of the first body, coupling the first body to the second body using the hinge structure, and causing the hinge structure to be slidably received within the guides.

    • A cleaning tool head for use with the wand of a carpet extractor. The head includes a housing that engages a surface being cleaned and forms an enclosed interior. A partition divides the interior into a vacuum chamber located a front sidewall of the housing and a cleaning chamber located behind the vacuum chamber. The cleaning head is mounted on a pair of transport wheels which extend along a wheel axis and is further supported by an upwardly extending handle assembly. The cleaning head is pivotable in an arcuate path about the wheel axis through movement of the handle assembly between a cleaning position in which the housing lower edge engages the surface to be cleaned as the handle assembly is pulled by a user and a transport position in which the lower edge is out of engagement with the surface to be cleaned as the user pushes the handle assembly.

Time domain encoding means creates a time domain code having a sequence according to inputted data bits or a complementary code which is complementary to the time domain code. An optical modulation means selectively outputs lights, in which the lights are incident upon the optical modulation means from the outside, to two output leads, respectively, according to chip bits of the time domain code or the complementary code. A wavelength domain encoding means encodes the light outputted from a first output lead of the optical modulation means to a wavelength domain sequence (two dimensional code), transmits the wavelength code to the base station, encodes the light outputted from a second output lead to a complementary sequence of the wavelength domain sequence, and transmits the complementary code of the two dimensional code to the base station.

    • A novel black matrix, a method for preparing the same, and a flat display device and an electromagnetic interference filter to which the black matrix is applied. The black matrix is prepared by exposing a photoactive compound to form a latent pattern of nuclei for crystal growth and treating the latent pattern of nuclei for crystal growth with a metal salt solution to give a metal particle-deposited pattern; forming an electroless Ni-plated layer on the metal particle-deposited pattern; and forming an electroless Cu-plated layer on the electroless Ni-plated layer. Exhibiting improved black tone, which is achieved only by a selective multilayer plating process, without using expensive vacuum sputtering apparatus or a photolithographic process, the black matrix can be applied to various flat display devices. In addition, due to improved electric conductivity, the black matrix can be used in an electromagnetic interference filter, without employing an additional front surface blackening process.
