    • A submersible aerator has an impeller which includes blades having partition walls which separate liquid passages and air passages and which is accommodated within a guide casing for rotation between a lower surface of an intermediate plate having an air suction opening and an upper surface of a suction cover having a liquid suction opening. The liquid passages and the air passages meet through communication portions at radially outer ends of rear-side blade partition walls. Intermediate blades are provided at radially outer ends of the liquid passages. A conical space is defined between the blade lower end surfaces and the suction cover upper surface such that the space, which is wide at a portion adjacent to the liquid suction opening, becomes narrower toward a radially outward region including guide vane tongues. A plurality of support legs and a plurality of straining projections are integrally formed on the lower surface of a peripheral portion of a bottom wall of the guide casing. Sloping surfaces are provided on the top wall upper surface between air-liquid discharge passages such that the sloping surfaces are inclined downward and increase in width in the radially outward direction.

    • A biometrics authentication system that performs individual authentication in use of biometrics information facilitates authentication operation and reduces authentication errors. A storage unit stores therein the shape of the body part of the user, of which is captured at the time of registration of biometrics data, and a display unit displays the body part shape from the time of registration when authenticating the user for directly identifying the state of image capture of the body part at the time of registration and for guiding into a state of image capture of the body part similar to the state at the time of registration. The body part can be guided effectively such that the circumstances of body part image capture at the time of authentication and at the time of registration are in agreement, for improved verification efficiency.

    • A device for inputting voice commands into a system such as a car navigation system includes a microphone for inputting voice commands, a display panel for displaying a help frame when required, a memory for storing a list of the voice commands and their respective usage frequencies in the past, and a controller for controlling operation of an entire system. A user confirms a voice command before inputting it, referring to a command list displayed on the display panel as a help frame. The command list shows all of the voice commands in a reverse order of their usage frequencies in the past. The commands which have not been frequently used and are not familiar to the user are shown in an earlier part of the list. Therefore, the commands for which confirmation are necessary can be quickly found in the list. Those commands which have been used in excess of a predetermined frequency level in the past may be eliminated from the list.
