    • PURPOSE:To obtain a highly accurate, highly reliable, high quality, shock-proof calendar wheel by indexing an indicating/printing part in the rotational direction using a part of protrusion at the indicating/printing part and the teeth at a gear part. CONSTITUTION:A protrusion 2a on a week wheel 2 has a profile engaging the bottom of tooth and indexes the protrusion 1b on a week plate 1 depending on the profile of the tooth. The week plate 1 is provided with the indexing protrusion 1b at a hole part 1a thereof. The week plate 1 is secured to the week wheel 2 by caulking of interference. The protrusion on the week plate 1 blocks relative rotation of the week plate 1 and the week wheel 2 when they are subjected to strong impact in the rotational direction. Consequently, no play is produced and the week plate is not removed even after long use. Furthermore, since the interference is not required to be increased, warp and deformation of the week plate 1 are suppressed and since clearance can be provided for caulking and interference using the hole part 1a, stress of the week plate can be dispersed and removed thus suppressing warp and deformation of the week plate 1.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a clock easy to operate and learn operation, highly practical and excellent in design by a method wherein a small alarm clock is independent of a basic clock and alarm time and normal time are corrected with a button and winding stem. CONSTITUTION:A step motor 3 is located distant from hour and minute pointers indicating normal time, which are located at the center of the clock body, and off from the center to drive a small second pointer for indicating normal time second. A step motor 15 drives a chronograph second pointer located over the hour and minute pointers at the center of the clock body. A step motor 27 drives a chronograph minute pointer located off the center of the clock body. A step motor 32 drives alarm hour and minute pointers fro indicating the alarm time located off the center of the clock body. A small clock made of the alarm hour and minute pointers has a time change function whereby the alarm time and normal time can be selected. By reversely driving the step motors 15, 27, the minute and second of a time can be displayed by the same pointers as the chronograph pointers, respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent deviation in the indication between an indicator and an alarm needle, by driving a wheel train faster than the normal speed with a switch input to a drive control circuit from a mode switch to halt the output from a drive circuit when electric connection between two contact members is detected. CONSTITUTION:A drive circuit 3 enters a contact detection mode of a contact switch 18 by a short-circuit signal of a mode switch 20 and the output pulse to the drive circuit 4 is altered to 128Hz from 1Hz in the normal point until the turning ON of the contact switch from a detection circuit 19 is detected to drive the wheel train 6 at a high speed. When the mode switch 20 fails to short-circuit to VDD while the detection signal of the detection circuit 19 is inputted, an alarm control circuit 9 outputs a clock pulse to an alarm driving circuit 10 for 20sec and the mode switch 20 enters the wheel train detection mode, short-circuiting to the VDD to output a clock pulse to the alarm drive circuit 10 when a contact conduction signal of the detection circuit 19 is inputted. This enable easy self-detection of indication deviation of a pointer and also facilitate the calculation of a drive pulse necessary for the correction of the indication deviation of the pointer thereby enabling self correction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronically controlled mechanical timepiece capable of reducing rotational irregularities of pointers, such as a second hand without the need for enlarging the size of the timepiece as a whole. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft 13c of a rotor 13 is connected to an inertial plate 31 rotation-freely provided for the rotor 13 by a hair spring 32. By making the amount of deformation of the hair spring 32, provided for a biasing mechanism 30 larger, as the amount of variation of the rotational speed of the rotor 13 becomes larger, a suppression force, corresponding to the amount of variation of the rotational speed, is added to the rotor 13 from the inertial plate 31. By this, since the biasing mechanism 30 relaxes the speed variations of the rotor 13, even if an electronic circuit provided for the electronically controlled mechanical timepiece allows for the variations of the rotational speed of the rotor 13 within one period, it is possible to efficiently suppress the rotational irregularities of the pointers such as the second hand, even if the variations of a rotation driving force transmitted to the rotor 13 occur.
