    • An object of the present invention is to provide a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material which exhibits a high sensitivity and less residual color. A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described, comprising at least one compound represented by the following general formula (I): wherein dye1 represents a methine dye; M1 represents a charge-balanced counter ion; m1 represents the number of M1 required to neutralize the charge of the molecule; q and p each represents an integer of 1 or more; R1 represents an alkyl group represented by R1a, R1b, R1c, or R1d: R1a: (Qa)rCON−SO2Ra R1b: (Qb)sSO2N−CORb R1c: (Qc)tCON−CORc R1d: (Qd)uSO2N−SO2Rd wherein Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd each represents an alkyl group, aryl group, heterocyclic group, alkoxyl group, aryloxy group, heterocyclyloxy group or amino group; Qa, Qb, Qc or Qd each represents a methylene group; and r, s, t and u each represents an integer of 1 or more; and R2 represents an alkyl group represented by the following general formula: R2a: A1—SO3− R2b: A2—X wherein A1 represents a connecting group containing at least one atom other than carbon atom; A2 represents a connecting group; and X represents a carboxyl group, sulfate group, phosphoric acid group or boric acid group.
