    • A carbon fiber cord for rubber reinforcement, comprising (A) a carbon fiber bundle comprising carbon fibers selected from the group consisting of carbon fibers having coated thereon from 0.1 to 1% by weight of at least one epoxy resin composition and carbon fibers having coated thereon from 0.5 to 15% by weight of a metal selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, zinc, and cobalt, and (B) a phenol-formalin-rubber latex type adhesive for rubber impregnated to said carbon fiber bundle in an amount of from 10 to 30% by weight, and said epoxy resin is selected from the group consisting of(1) a composition comprising an epoxy resin and from 5 to 20% by weight of a compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein A represents --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.l or --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.n (C.sub.3 H.sub.6 O).sub.m, wherein l and n each represents an integrer of from 18 to 50, m represents an integer of from 1 to 50, and n/m is from 1 to 25,(2) a composition comprising a urethane-modified epoxy resin represented by formula ##STR2## wherein A represents an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, m and n each represents 0 or an interger of 1 or more, and the sum of n and m is from 2 to 10, and(3) a composition comprising polybutadiene epoxide resin containing a glycidyl group and having an epoxy equivalent of from 1,000 to 2,000, which is represented by formula (III) ##STR3## wherein n represents an integer of from 4 to 22, and l/m is from 2.3 to 9.

    • The method of manufacturing a nozzle plate which includes a nozzle having a tapered section and a linear section includes the steps of: forming an etching stopper layer for stopping dry etching of a silicon substrate, on a first surface of the silicon substrate; forming a mask layer on a second surface of the silicon substrate reverse to the first surface; performing a first patterning process with respect to the mask layer so that an opening section is formed in the mask layer; carrying out the dry etching of the silicon substrate through the opening section in the mask layer so that the tapered section of the nozzle is formed in the silicon substrate; carrying out dry etching of the etching stopper layer through the opening section in the mask layer so that at least a part of the linear section of the nozzle is formed in the etching stopper layer; and removing the mask layer.

    • Provided is a pneumatic tire which is lighter in weight and exhibits increased flat-spot resistance while keeping its durability and driving stability. The pneumatic tire according to the present invention includes a carcass layer being laid between paired right and left bead sections, and at least two belt layers being arranged at an outer peripheral side of the carcass layer in a tread section. The pneumatic tire is characterized in that a hybrid cord, used as reinforcement cords of the carcass layer, is obtained by imparting second twists, in a reverse direction of the first twists, to a bundle of: at least one rayon first twist yarn being obtained by imparting first twists to a bundle of rayon fibers; and at least one aramid first twist yarn being obtained by imparting, to a bundle of aramid fibers, first twists in the same direction of the first twists of the rayon first twist yarn. The total fineness of the hybrid cord is in a range of 3500 dtex to 9000 dtex, the second twist coefficient K of the hybrid cord expressed by Equation 1 is in a range of 1700 to 2400, the tensile strength of the hybrid cord is not less than 5.5 CN/dtex when absolutely dry, and the elongation percentage of the hybrid cord under a load of 1.8 cN/dtex is 2% to 4% when absolutely dry, K=T√(Tr/ρr+Ta/pa)   (Equation 1) where T denotes the number of second twists of the hybrid cord (times/10 cm), Tr denotes the total fineness of the rayon fibers (unit: dtex), ρr denotes the specific gravity of the rayon fibers, Ta denotes the total fineness of the aramid fibers (unit: dtex), and ρa denotes the specific gravity of the aramid fibers.

    • There is disclosed a brushless motor in which an oil-impregnated sleeve bearing is inserted in a bearing holder having a cylindrical shape with a closed bottom, and a rotating shaft is inserted in the oil-impregnated sleeve bearing in such a manner that the rotating shaft may freely rotate. With this arrangement, it becomes possible to prevent lubricant from leaking out without increasing either the number of component elements or the number of assembling steps. The oil-impregnated sleeve bearing comprises an inner and outer layers. An oil seat is disposed on the oil-impregnated sleeve bearing at the open-end side of the bearing holder. The percentages of voids are set such that the percentages of voids become lower in the order of the oil seal, the outer layer, and the inner layer. With the above arrangement, the lubricant can be prevented from leaking out through a gap of the bearing, and therefore reduction of life due to the leakage of lubricant can also be prevented.
