A selector selects a part of one or at least two continuous shot images remained after an exclusion as a specific image.

    • An image processing apparatus includes a taker. A taker takes an image. A searcher searches for one or at least two face images from the image taken by the taker. A first designator designates each of the one or at least two face images discovered by the searcher. A holder holds a plurality of face characteristics respectively corresponding to a plurality of ages. A detector detects a facial expression of the face image designated by the first designator. An estimator estimates an age of a person equivalent to the face image designated by the first designator based on the plurality of face characteristics held by the holder and the facial expression detected by the detector. An adjuster adjusts a quality of the image taken by the taker with reference to an estimated result of the estimator.

    • An electronic camera includes an imager. An imager, having an imaging surface capturing a scene, repeatedly generates a scene image. A first searcher searches for a partial image having a specific pattern from the scene image generated by the imager. An adjuster adjusts an imaging condition by noticing an object which is equivalent to the partial image discovered by the first searcher. A second searcher searches for the partial image having the specific pattern from the scene image generated by the imager after an adjusting process of the adjuster is completed. A first recorder records the scene image corresponding to the partial image discovered by the second searcher out of the scene image generated by the imager.

    • A monitoring camera device adds image capturing time data to image data which is successive with respect to time, and stores the image data on a recording medium. A plurality of directories are prepared on the recording medium for containing a predetermined number of items of image data, and are each named according to a directory naming rule, such that a portion of the name is made different when the directory is prepared during the period of standard time and when the directory is prepared during the period of daylight saving time. The directory also has attached thereto directory preparing time data indicating the time when the directory is prepared.The camera device judges whether each of the directories is prepared during the period of the standard time or during the period of daylight saving time with reference to the name of the directory, and judges the order of directory preparing times using the time indicated by the directory preparing data of the directory when the directory is found to have been prepared during the period of the standard time, or using a value obtained by subtracting a time correction value from the time indicated by the directory preparing data of the directory when the directory is found to have been prepared during the period of daylight saving time.

    • A pair of discharge pipes interconnect outlet ports of a plurality of batteries such that the first discharge pipe interconnects the outlet ports of some of the batteries and the second discharge pipe interconnects the outlet ports of the remaining batteries. The discharge pipes have rear ends connected respectively to atmospheric discharge units and other ends connected by joint pipes. Since the rear ends of the discharge pipes are connected to the atmospheric discharge units, even if one of the discharge pipes is closed or blocked for some reason, a gas emitted from the batteries is discharged from the other discharge pipes and hence is prevented from being trapped in the batteries.
