摘要： A method of producing a piezoelectric/electrostrictive actuator including preparing first, second and third ceramic green sheets, and laminating the green sheets to form an unfired ceramic body which is then fired. The first, second and third green sheets form spacer, closure, and connecting plates, respectively, the spacer plate having a plurality of windows. An outer surface of the connecting plate that is remote from the spacer plate is machined so as to have a maximum waviness of not larger than 50 .mu.m. Additionally, piezoelectric/electrostrictive elements are formed on an outer surface of the closure plate over respective pressure chambers defined by the windows in the spacer plate.

摘要： A recording head operable to apply an electric current to an electrically resistive layer provided on a recording medium or a planar intermediate member interposed between the medium and the recording head. The head includes an electrically insulating substrate, and at least one recording electrode formed on one of opposite major surfaces of the substrate. The substrate is formed of an electrically insulating material whose wear resistance is lower than that of the recording electrode or electrodes. The substrate has a distal end portion extending from a proximal portion by a predetermined distance from the proximal portion for contact with the electrically resistive layer. The distal end portion has a thickness smaller than that of the proximal portion, as measured in a direction perpendicular to a direction of extension of the distal end portion. 摘要： An exhaust gas cleaning device for an internal combustion engine comprises a housing provided with an inlet port which is communicated with an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine and an outlet port, two particulates collecting members disposed in two independent exhaust gas flowing passages which are communicated with the inlet port through an inlet chamber and with the outlet port through an outlet chamber, a butterfly valve provided in the inlet chamber for alternately directing the exhaust gases into either one of the exhaust gas flowing passages and a heated air supplying means for burning off the particulates collected by the particulates collecting members, which is provided with a heated air outlet port opening into the inlet chamber so as to be opposed to the inlet port with the butterfly valve therebetween.

The slurry is prepared by mixing a thermosetting resin precursor, a ceramic powder, and a medium. In the ceramic compact, an isocyanate- or isothiocyanate-containing gelling agent and a hydroxyl-containing polymer are reacted and hardened to produce a thermosetting resin. 摘要： The water droplet generating system includes a vessel, an opening/closing valve, a moisture absorbent member, and a condenser portion. The vessel has an opening portion. The opening/closing valve opens and closes the opening portion. The water absorbent member absorbs and releases water vapor depending on a change of humidity. The condenser portion is communicated with the inside of the vessel and cools water vapor released from the moisture absorbent member to be at a dew point of water vapor or less. When the opening portion is opened, the moisture absorbent member absorbs water vapor in atmosphere. When the opening portion is closed, the moisture absorbent member releases water vapor, and the condenser portion condenses water vapor, which is released from the moisture absorbent member, to generate a water droplet.

In production, a heating step of forming a molten aluminum layer on the AlN layer and heating it in an atmosphere of N2 gas is repeated at least twice or more. At this time, the amount of the N2 gas dissolved in the molten aluminum layer is decreased as the heating step is repeated.
