    • PURPOSE:To recover oil contents effectively as fuel oil by extracting the oil contents in oily sludge by the extracting agent composed of the oil of the same nature, coarsening the particles of the water contents in the extracted oil after having been removed of solids and separating these from the oil contents. CONSTITUTION:Oil A1 of the same nature as that of the oil A1 in oily sludge A is supplied into an oil extracting unit 1, where it is heated and stirred 1i, to which the sludge A is charged 1b with heating and stirring. This results in the extraction of the oil A1 in the sludge A into the same nature oil A1 and sedimentation of coarse solids A2-1, which are then scraped up by transport vanes 1i and are discharge 1d to the outside of the unit 1. On the other hand, the extracted oil A1is overflown via overflow weir 1k and underflow weir 1l and is further sent to an oil tank 2. Next, part of the oil A1 in the tank 2 is sent to the unit 1 and the rest to a solid- liquid centrifuge 6, respectively. In the centrifuge 6, the oil A1 and fine solids A2-2 are separated and the oil A1 is passed through a water drop coasening unit 8, whereby the micro water droplets contained are gathered to coarser particles, which are further sent to a liquid-liquid centrifuge 9 to be separated to the oil A1 and water content A3. The oil A1 is recovered.

    • PURPOSE:To increase a contrast ratio and to make improvement in responsiveness by providing a composite thin film which contains a nematic liquid crystal and dichromatic dyes in the skeleton of an org. high-molecular polymer and in which a specific solvent is made to remain. CONSTITUTION:The composite thin film 1 which contains the nematic liquid crystal 6 and the dichromatic dyes 7 in the skeleton 1a of the org. high- molecular polymer and in which the solvent being the good solvent of the org. high-molecular polymer, the nematic liquid crystal 6 and the dichromatic dyes 7 and having the solubility in the org. high-molecular polymer higher than the solubility in the nematic liquid crystal 6 and the dichromatic dyes 7 is further made to remain and two sheets of transparent base materials 3 formed with transparent conductive material films 2 are provided. Two sheets of the transparent base materials 3 are disposed in such a manner that the transparent conductive material films 2 face each other. The composite thin film 1 is crimped between these base materials 3. The light transmittability improves in proportion to the orientability in the electric field direction 8 of the nematic liquid crystal molecules 6 and the dichromatic dye molecules 7 and, therefore, the contrast ratio is large and the excellent responsiveness is obtd.
