The beam 9, which is returned from the oscillator, but exclude the laser beam 8, is picked up from a rear mirror of the laser oscillator 12 and the beam 9 except for the laser beam is arranged to be detected with an optical sensor installed in the rear of the laser oscillator.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a resonator section from being affected by heat generated by a laser power supply section, and to enable the resonator section to perform stable laser oscillation, by arranging the laser power supply section on the top of the resonator section. CONSTITUTION:In a laser oscillator, a resonator section 20 having a pair of electrodes 2a, 2b opposed to each other, a pair of reflecting mirrors 5, 6 for resonating and emitting a laser beam 11 excited by the electric discharge between the electrodes 2a, 2b, a blower 3 for circulating laser medium between the electrodes 2a and 2b and a heat exchanger 4 for cooling the laser medium, and a laser power supply section 12 having a power supply 12 for applying a voltage between the electrodes 2a and 2b and a fan 13 for dissipating heat generated by the power supply 12 are provided integrally while the laser power supply section is arranged on the top of the resonator section 20. According to such arrangement, most of the heat generated by the laser power supply section 12 is dissipated toward above the laser power supply section 12 and, therefore, the resonator section 20 is affected very little by the heat generated by the laser power supply section 12.

The switching mirror 14 is then held in the transmission path A of the laser beam 4 and the image of the processing position 7 of works 6, 6a is picked up by the television camera 8a. The set focal position 5 of the laser beam and the processing position 5 of the works 6, 6a are compared and the deviation quantity thereof is corrected by moving a processing head 1 or the works 6, 6a.

At this time, the light amt. displayed by the meter 11 is reduced so much as the sticking amt. of the spatter 7 is larger. Therefore when the light amt. becomes less than a reference value it becomes judgeable to need the cleaning or change of the work lens 3a.
