摘要： A magnetic tape cartridge including a reel-rotation restraining member which restricts rotation of a reel when not used and allows the rotation of the reel when used. The reel-rotation restraining member has a restraining member, an urging member, and an unlocking member. The restraining member has a restraining gear which meshes with a locking tooth portion, and the restraining member is supported by a support portion of the cartridge case. In the magnetic tape cartridge, the following relationship is met: b≦(2×a×c)/d where “a” represents the length of engagement between the restraining member in an unlocked state and the support portion, “b” represents the clearance between the restraining member and the support portion, “c” represents the space between the tooth of the restraining gear and the locking tooth portion, and “d” represents the outside diameter of the restraining gear.

The sliding main body of the write protection member has a control portion, a protrusion, and a stopper piece. The stopper piece is provided on the inside surface of the sliding main body so that it protrudes in a direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the main sliding body. The stopper piece is fitted in a stopper groove formed in an elastically deformable guide wall and holds a stopped position thereof.

A slide door that opens and closes the opening is mounted between guide portions provided in the cartridge lower and upper halves, while stressing the slide door with a spring member toward a position in which the opening is closed. During mounting, the slide door is stressed with the spring member toward the position in which the opening is closed by fitting a lower edge of the slide door into the guide portion of the lower half A mounting position of the slide door is retained by holding an end of the slide door facing a direction in which the slide door moves to close the opening.
