    • One end of a resistor R1 is connected to a charger detection terminal OCV and the other end of the resistor R1 is connected to a base terminal of an NPN type bipolar transistor Q2 of open collector structure to thereby supply a driving bias current. An emitter terminal of the transistor Q2 is connected to a reference potential and a collector terminal of the transistor Q2 is connected to a gate terminal COUT of a charge control P type FET 204. Not only the resistor R1 but also a collector terminal of an NPN type bipolar transistor Q1 of an open collector structure is connected to the base terminal of the transistor Q2. An emitter terminal of the transistor Q1 is connected to the reference potential and an overcharge control signal from an overcharge control circuit 231 is connected to a base terminal of the transistor Q1. If a voltage of not less than a predetermined voltage value is applied to the charger detection terminal OCV, the transistor Q2 is turned on and makes the charge control P type FET 204 conductive to thereby charge a battery. When receiving the overcharge control signal, the transistor Q1 is turned on, bypasses a bias current of the transistor Q2 supplied from the charger detection terminal OCV and turns off the transistor Q2 to thereby prohibit charge operation.

    • A legged moving robot has a plurality of movable legs for repeatedly touching and leaving a floor. An apparatus for detecting the landing position of a foot sole of each of the movable legs has a force sensor mounted on each of the movable legs at a position spaced from a foot sole thereof toward a proximal end thereof. The force sensor detects at least a perpendicular force perpendicular to the foot sole and a moment about an axis extending in a lateral direction of the foot sole and passing through a predetermined reference point on the foot sole. A time when the foot sole touches or leaves the floor is detected on the basis of the perpendicular force detected by the force sensor. A landing position for the foot sole to start touching or end leaving the floor is determined on the basis of the perpendicular force and the moment detected by the force sensor, at the detected time or in a predetermined time range near the detected time.

A crystal recovery auction pipe is arranged which includes a pivotally movable section pivotally moved in the basket, of which a distal end is advanced into crystal in the basket. Crystal in the basket is recovered by suction through the distal end of the suction pipe, which is ultimately displaced to a corner of the basket between a lowermost portion of a peripheral wall of the basket and a bottom wall thereof. This permits crystal collected to a lowermost section of the basket to be substantially recovered by suction through the suction pipe, to thereby improve crystal recovery.

    • A magnetic disk apparatus having an unloading member for unloading a magnetic head from the surface of the magnetic disk when the driving of the same is stopped. One end of a spring arm has a magnetic head attached thereto and the other end of the spring arm is joined to a head arm which is rotated by a voice coil motor. The unloading member is set up on the base for rotation in a plane parallel to the plane of rotation of the head arm and has a first arm whose one end is capable of slide contacting the spring arm and a second arm whose one end is capable of abutting on the head arm. The one end of the first arm is beveled to facilitate its slide contact with the spring arm. The second arm of the unloading member is urged by a torsion spring in the direction of the head arm. When the driving is stopped, the magnetic head is moved to the outer side of the magnetic disk, so that the head arm abuts on the one end of the second arm. Thereby, the one end of the first arm is rotated toward the magnetic head so that the spring arm comes into slide contact with the beveled end of the first arm and goes on the first arm and, thus, the magnetic head becomes supported by the unloading member.

    • A paper transporting device for a photographic printer. A pulse motor starts rotating during a magazine setting operation. The rotation of the pulse motor is transmitted to a pair of feed rollers through a pin-clutch mechanism and a paper feed gear train. Immediately before a paper magazine is completely attached to the photographic printer, the feed rollers nip the leading end of photographic paper and pull the photographic paper out of the paper magazine. When changing the paper magazine, a solenoid is turned on to change over the pin-clutch mechanism from the paper feed gear train to a paper rewind gear train. Thereafter, the pulse motor is rotated in reverse, so as to rotate a winding shaft of the paper magazine through the pin-clutch mechanism and the paper rewind gear train. An unexposed portion of the photographic paper remaining in the photographic printer is thus wound back into the paper magazine.
