    • PURPOSE:To produce a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet having a homogeneous forsterite film, at the time of forming an insulated film constituted of forsterite on the surface of a silicon steel sheet, by removing the surface layer by a specified amt. before decarburizing annealing after process annealing. CONSTITUTION:A silicon steel slab is subjected to hot rolling, is subjected to cold rolling for >=two times including process annealing to regulate its cold rolling sheet thickness into a final one, which is subjected to decarburizing annealing to form subscales essentially consisting of SiO2 on the surface of the steel sheet. Moreover, it is coated with a separation agent for annealing essentially consisting of MgO and is next subjected to finish annealing to form an insulated film essentially consisting of forsterite. At that time, before the decarburizing annealing after the process annealing, a surface layer by the weight shown by the inequality A>=(0.65XB-543)XC [A denotes the surface layer (g/m ) to be removed, B denotes the process annealing temp. ( deg.C) and C denotes the sheet thickness (mm) before the removal of the surface layer] is removed. Thus, the grain-oriented silicon steel sheet having a homogeneous forsterite film excellent in adhesion and furthermore little in defects can stably be obtd.

CONSTITUTION:At the time of producing a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet by a series of process in which the stock of grain-oriented silicon steel is subjected to hot rolling, thereafter subjected to hot rolled sheet annealing, next subjected to cold rolling for one time or two times including process annealing, is thereafter degreased, subsequently subjected to decarburizing annealing, is coated with a porting agent for annealing, thereafter subjected to finish annealing, is applied with tension coating and is subjected to flattening annealing, the surface of the steel sheet is coated with Si compounds by 0.1 to 5g/m expressed in terms of Si before the decarburizing annealing and after the final cold rolling; where, as the Si-contg. material, SiCl, SiCl4, SiC, Na2SiO3, 9H2O, SiO2, Na2[SiF6] or the like are advantageous, and by the uniform application thereof, the accumulating degree in the Goss orientation of secondarily recrystallized ones can be increased to effectively reduce core loss.

    • PURPOSE:To stably produce the grain oriented electrical steel sheet having a high magnetic flux density and decreased variations by subjecting a low-carbon steel slab having a specific compsn. to hot rolling and cold rolling, then to decarburization annealing and finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:A continuously cast slab of the low-carbon steel having the compsn. contg., by weight %, 0.02 to 0.10% C, 2.0 to 4.5% Si, 0.02 to 0.15% Mn, 0.015 to 0.04O% Sol. Al, 0.004 to 0.010% N and 0.008 to 0.08% in total of one or two kinds of S and Se is hot-rolled at a high temp. and is coiled as a sheet material coil. This hot rolled coil is adjusted by intermediate annealing to 0.015 to 0.025% content of C in the front layer part of 20% sheet thickness direction from the front surface of the steel sheet and 0.020 to 0.10% content of C in the remaining intermediate layer. After the steel sheet is made into the final sheet thickness of =2 passes of cold rolling including this intermediate annealing, the steel sheet is subjected to decarburization annealing in a wet hydrogen atmosphere and is further subjected to finish annealing by applying a sepn. agent consisting of MgO as an essential component for annealing thereon, by which the grain oriented electrical steel sheet having insulating films on the surfaces and the high magnetic flux density is produced.

    • PURPOSE:To produce a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties by subjecting the rolled sheet of a silicon steel containing specific amounts of C, Si, Mn, S, and Se to decarburizing annealing, specific heat treatment, secondary recrystallization treatment, and purification annealing. CONSTITUTION:A slab of a silicon steel having a composition containing, by weight, 0.020-0.080% C, 2.5-4.0% Si, 0.03-0.15% Mn, and 0.008-0.100% S and/or Se is hot-rolled, cold-rolled once or cold-rolled twice while process-annealed between the cold rolling stages, and finished to the final sheet thickness. Then decarburizing annealing is applied to the steel sheet and a separation agent at annealing, composed essentially of MgO, is applied, and secondary recrystallization treatment is carried out at 800-920 deg.C. Subsequently purification annealing is applied to the steel sheet, by which a grain-oriented steel sheet is obtained. At this time, prior to the secondary recrystallization treatment, the steel sheet is held at 650-800 deg.C for 5-20hr in an atmosphere consisting of 25-75% dry H2 and the balance N2. By this method, Goss-oriented secondary- recrystallized grains can be increased in the integration degree and refined, and iron loss value can be remarkably reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To produce the grain oriented silicon steel strip uniformly having excellent magnetic characteristics by hot rolling a silicon steel slab having a specific compsn., then subjecting the steel strip to finish rolling at a specific final cold rolling draft then to decarburization annealing, applying an annealing and separating agent thereon and drying the coating, then coiling the steel strip and subjecting the steel strip to final finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:The silicon steel slab having the compsn. contg., by weight %, 0.020 to 0.080% C, 2.5 to 4.0% Si, 0.03 to 0.15% Mn, 0.008 to 0.080% in total of 1 or 2 kinds of S or Se, or further contg. 0.010 to 0.070% Sol Al, and 0.0035 to 0.0140% N is hot rolled to a sheet material and is then subjected to one pass or two passes of cold rolling including intermediate annealing at 40 to 80% final cold rolling draft by which the slab is made into the steel strip having the final sheet thickness at the time of producing the silicon steel strip to be used for the iron cores of transformers. After the steel strip is subjected to decarburization annealing, the annealing and separating agent is applied thereon at >=8g/m in total of both surfaces and at the coated amt. in the inner winding part of the coil larger in average by >=10% than the amt. in the outer winding part. This steel strip is coiled and is subjected to the final annealing. The excellent grain oriented silicon steel sheet having the magnetic characteristics uniform in the longitudinal direction of the steel strip is thus obtd.
