摘要： An external aquarium filter having a housing which is mountable onto a wall of an aquarium tank. The housing includes an intake compartment and a filter compartment which in turn includes a contaminated water chamber receiving contaminated water drawn into the intake compartment from the aquarium tank and a filter chamber for filtering the water. A motor unit supported at the filter housing has an impeller which sits into it depending from a collar which fits into the intake compartment of the filter. The impeller draws water from the aquarium tank into the intake compartment of the filter. The impeller is encased in a tubular collar. The tubular collar has two opposing windows. The window, which faces the front wall of the intake compartment, is offset in a clockwise direction, as viewed from above, relative to the window which faces the rear wall of the intake compartment, to effectively close off the right edge thereof, to thereby reduce turbulence in the water flowing in the filter.

摘要： A needle assembly is disclosed. The needle assembly includes a housing having a flash chamber, and having a distal end and a proximal end engageable with a specimen collection container. The assembly includes a cannula having a patient end, a non-patient end, and a sidewall extending therebetween defining a cannula interior. The patient end of the cannula projects at least partially from the distal end of the housing, and the cannula interior is in fluid communication with the flash chamber. The assembly further includes a shield restrainably engaged with a portion of the housing and axially transitionable over the patient cannula from a retracted position in which the patient end is exposed, to an extended position in which the patient end is shielded by at least a portion of the shield, wherein at least a portion of the flash chamber is visible in the retracted position.

Contemplated engines preferably keep track of previously run correlations, and then makes those correlations available to clinicians for their own use. In another example, a preferred system might provide a listing of correlations sorted by popularity, so that the most frequently accessed correlations appear near the top of the list. In any case a clinician could simply view the list, and check off which correlations he/she would like to have run for his/her practice, or practice community.

摘要： A method and apparatus for automated cell analysis of biological specimens automatically scans at a low magnification to acquire images which are analyzed to determine candidate cell objects of interest. The low magnification images are converted from a first color space to a second color space. The color space converted image is then filtered. The candidate interest pixels are morphologically processed and compared to blob parameters to identify candidate objects of interest which correspond to cells or other structures relevant to medical diagnosis of the biological specimen. The location coordinates of the objects of interest are stored and additional images of the candidate cell objects are acquired at high magnification.
