摘要： A vehicle safety system for preventing inadvertent acceleration of a vehicle by a driver is provided. The vehicle includes an engine that supplies power to move the vehicle, a transmission that transmits power from the engine to wheels of the vehicle, an acceleration module that controls the engine to increase power, and a brake module that slows down or stop the vehicle. The acceleration module includes an accelerator pedal that receives pressure applied by the driver, and the brake module includes a brake pedal that receives pressure applied by the driver. The system includes a pressure sensor that senses pressure applied to the accelerator pedal, and a control circuit that is connected to the pressure sensor and the vehicle. The control circuit is activated to prevent inadvertent acceleration of the vehicle when the pressure sensed by the pressure sensor exceeds a predetermined safety threshold.

摘要： A medical device is configured to diagnose whether a nodule of a bodily organ is malignant or benign using ultrasound elastography to determine a nodule stiffness index. Using either an external compression source or an in vivo pulsation source, the stiffness of the nodule of the bodily organ can be quantified by either its static properties or dynamic properties. The nodule can be classified as Type I, which is benign requiring further observation, or Type II, which is malignant requiring invasive procedures.

The user or group of users may be identified as an employee who can be found in corporate or organizational directory. In some embodiments, different authentication mechanisms may be used for various types of network traffic. For example, by proxying instant messaging (IM) communications, a proxy server can know which users are associated with what network traffic. In another example, transparent and non-transparent mechanisms may be provided to authenticate HTTP URL traffic. For other types of traffic, such as non-proxied IM, P2P, and spyware, an existing authentication cache or credential cache may be used to identify the user who generated the traffic.
