    • An optical transmission device which efficiently suppresses variations among loss levels in optical fiber transmission, and improves quality of optical transmission. A WDM port is connected to an optical transmission line, and functions as a port for transmission and reception of a wavelength-multiplexed signal. A wavelength multiplex/demultiplex unit has optical filters which are daisy-chain connected, and realize a loss characteristic weighted at respective wavelengths in correspondence with a wavelength-dependent loss characteristic of the optical transmission line. Each of the optical filters has a function of a band-pass filter and an identical insertion loss. The wavelength multiplex/demultiplex unit performs wavelength demultiplexing of a signal received through the WDM port, or wavelength multiplexing of signals to be outputted through the WDM port, so as to suppress differences among different channels in loss caused by transmission of a wavelength-multiplexed signal, and equalize loss levels in the different channels.

    • An antenna is provided which can reconcile a low antenna resonance frequency and broadband frequency characteristics, while attaining stable impedance characteristics and enhanced design flexibility. A conductive plate is coupled to a conductive base plate via a first metal lead. A voltage is applied to the conductive plate from a supply point via a second metal lead. A conductive wall is electrically coupled to the conductive plate at one end thereof. An electromagnetic field coupling adjustment plate is electrically coupled to the other end of the conductive wall. The electromagnetic field coupling adjustment plate is disposed so as to leave a predetermined interspace between itself and the conductive base plate, thereby creating a capacitor in conjunction with the conductive base plate. The conductive wall and the electromagnetic field coupling adjustment plate are disposed so as to maximize a path length from a shot-circuiting portion (at which the conductive plate is coupled to the first metal lead) to an open end of the electromagnetic field coupling adjustment plate. Preferably, a current path extending from a supply portion (at which the conductive plate is coupled to the second metal lead) to the short-circuiting portion has a length equal to a ½ wavelength for a desired resonance frequency.

    • A centrifugal friction clutch for an automatic transmission includes axially movable friction elements supported on and rotated with an input member. Axially slidable clutch elements are supported on a clutch cover, wherein centrifugal weights held by spring members are disposed at predetermined positions on the clutch cover. First retaining means on the clutch cover press the friction members and clutch members against each other so that power can be transmitted when the centrifugal weights are displaced. A first spring bearing member contacting one end of each of the spring members urges the centrifugal weights toward their initial positions while a second spring bearing member contacting the other end of each of the spring members is held in place on the clutch cover by second retaining means engaging the clutch cover. The first and second bearing members are axially movable relative to the input member.
