    • The present invention relates to methods and devices for enabling reception of a specific service for terminals idle mode. More particularly, the present invention relates to such methods and devices enabling mobility for terminals in idle mode so as to receive an MBMS service. In case a terminal is interested in the MBMS service, it applies different reselection rule than normal reselection rule i.e., when the terminal is not interested in the MBMS service. For instance, the terminal manipulates the priority indications received from an eNB and considers MBMS layer the highest priority in case the terminal is interested in MBMS service. If the terminal thus manipulates the priority due to the (intended) MBMS reception, the terminal starts an MBMS timer, which is received as a permission parameter from the eNB.

    • Format of a downlink control channel for a user equipment UE is changed in conjunction with switching the UE between being enabled for cross carrier scheduling and being disabled for cross carrier scheduling. The changed format is used on at least one serving cell of the UE's configured set of component carriers CCs. In one embodiment the changed format comprises an explicit carrier indicator field CIF for the case in which the switching is from disabled to enabled; and the changed format has no explicit CIF when the switching is from enabled to disabled. In another embodiment switching from disabled to enabled comprises the UE's configured set of CCs being changed from one to multiple cells; and switching from enabled to disabled comprises the UE's configured set of CCs being changed from multiple cells to one cell. In one embodiment the changed format is implicit.

    • A protocol (and corresponding equipment) for use in communicating between a sending node (11) and a receiving node (12) a frame (10) including a Spare Extension (SE) section conveying values for one or more information element (IE) fields, and also including a New IE Flags IE or other device for indicating to the receiving node (12) whether the SE section includes valid data for each IE in the SE section. A flag indicating whether valid data is provided in the SE section can be used, and also an IE indicating the length of the SE section. The protocol is such that the receiving node (12) treats an IE field value occurring in the SE section as spare bits if the IE field was introduced for a version of a later release of a specification than that according to which the receiving node (12) was implemented.
