Also, a complex multiplier 13 is provided as a means to eliminate the relative speed component of the examinee and the probe 1 from the frequency spectrum of a Doppler detection signal by inputting the estimated value of the relative speed from the relative speed estimating part 12 and inputting the Doppler detection signal obtained in the Doppler detecting parts 4a, 4b. In this way, it is possible to accurately measure the bloodstream speed even in the slow speed bloodstream by eliminating the relative speed component of the examinee and the probe 1.

The absolute value computing element 6 computes the absolute value of Fourier conversion output from a frequency analyzer 5 so as to obtain power spectrum data, and the means 15 computes phase angle data to the frequency of Fourier conversion output from the frequency analyzer 5 and also computes group delay quantity by difference calculation every frequency of this phase angle data. On the basis of both computed results of the absolute value computing element 6 and group delay quantity computing means 15, the power spectrum data is selected and displayed on a time axis according to the group delay quantity. Both frequency resolution and time resolution are thereby improved in the processing of Doppler signals collected from a testee so as to enable spectrum display with high resolution.

Consequently, not only the diseased part and the healthy composition around the diseased part can be recognized easily, but also species generated by the interference between waves can be reduced effectively, and the contrast resolution can be improved.

Further, an interposed layer 3 is installed between the piezoelectric element 1 and the backing member 2, and the sound impedance is reduced to be smaller than that of the backing member 2, and the thickness of the interposed layer 3 is allowed to correspond to 1/4 of the wave length of the supersonic wave generated from the piezoelectric element 1. Accordingly, the phase difference of half the wave length of the supersonic wave is generated between the supersonic wave supplied from the back surface of the piezoelectric element 1 and the reflection wave reflected in the boundary part between the interposed layer 3 and the backing member 2. Thus, the synchronization with the supersonic wave generated by the piezoelectric element 1 itself is realized, and the ultrasonic wave vibration having the long duration time is obtained, and the blood flow speed can be measured correctly, and a blood flow speed image is obtained on the basis of the measurement.

The transponder is connected and formed so that the output signal of the dead time setter can be applied to the vibrator and the retransmission signal of the vibrator can be inputted to the amplifier 5 again. Thus, stable operation can be executed and the ultrasonic echo of enough intensity is retransmitted from the vibrator to the probe. Then, on a monitor in the main body of an ultrasonic diagnostic device, the image of the tip part of the stick needle can be clearly distinguished from the surrounding internal organs together with an ultrasonic tomographic image.
