Energy discharging means 10 discharges the magnetic energy stored during the On period of the Tr Q during the OFF period of the TrQ. Thus, output voltages V1, V2 can be specified by the ratio of the number of turns of the windings n1, n2 of the transformer T1 and the winding of an energy discharging circuit to facilitate a design.

For example, the switch 3 is ON at times t1-t2, the switch 4 is ON at times t2-t3, and the switch 2 is ON at times t3-t4. Thus, an output voltage V0 converted to sinusoidal low frequency is obtained at the output terminal.

As a result, the voltage of the gate input capacity of FETs 12-1n is kept lower then the cutoff voltage level despite a sudden drop of the power supply voltage. Thus a switch circuit never has a malfunction.

When the GTO11 is turned on, a charge of the capacitor 21 is supplied to the gate of an MOSFET 51 through a resistance 31, the FET51 becomes on, and thereafter, the sum of a discharge current of the capacitor 21 and a drain current of the FET51 becomes a gate current of the GTO12, and the GTO12 is turned on. Thereafter, in the same way, the GTOs 13-1n are turned on, and while an on-gate current is supplied to the GTO11, the FETs 51-5n-1 become on, and a load current is supplied as a gate current of each GTO, therefore, even if the load current becomes below a holding current, it does not occur that the GTO is turned off.
