    • PURPOSE:To attain fine and quantitative control of the flow rate by using the rotation of a turntable containing many concentrical holes to perform the opening/closing control of the flow paths formed by each hole. CONSTITUTION:A liquid supplied from a pressure container through the pipes 2a and 2b reaches a turntable 1, and the pressure fluid is supplied to an actuating device (not shown in a diagram) through the pipe 3b only when the holes 1a formed concentrically on the turntable 1 which is driven by a motor 4 are coincident with the holes 2a and 3a of blocks 2 and 3 set at both sides of turntable 1. The flow rate of the fluid can be controlled with control of the rotational frequency of the motor 4 since the turntable 1 is driven the motor 4. Furthermore, the discharging amount of the fluid is controlled when a flow path formed between a flowing inlet 2a and a flowing outlet 3a is opened and closed in accordance with the revolution of the turntable 1. As a result, the accurate and quantitative control of flow rate is attained over a wide range by changing the number of holes 1a - 3a forming the flow paths, the diameters of these holes, the rotational frequency of the turntable 1, etc.

    • PURPOSE:To flexibly designate complex conditions by providing a display means, a means to store the relation of an individual element and a retrieving key and a means to designate the element in ordering and to designate the retrieving key from the element. CONSTITUTION:A retrieving key input part 5 displays the synopsis of a selectable items in a table format on a screen according to the content of a table information storing part 4 and designates the item displayed on the screen to a user by a position designating device 2. A retrieving key generating part 6 decides the content of the table information storing part 4 and the retrieving key detected by the retrieving key input part 5, and when the user ends the input of the retrieving key, the retrieving key is generated from the selecting item and is transmitted to a data base control part 7. The control part 7 retrieves the relevant information according to the retrieving key generated by the generating part 6 and displays a result on the screen. Thus, the user can execute the designation of retrieving conditions flexibly only by selecting the item displayed on the screen.

    • PURPOSE:To discriminate easily whether an optical system is in focus or out of focus independently of the classification of an object and the contrast by detecting the width of an edge part like the outline of the object which appears commonly to may objects. CONSTITUTION:The width of the edge part of the object is detected, and the optical system is judged to be out of focus if the width is wide, but it is judged to be in focus if the width is narrow. A width DELTAx of the edge part in a picture signal I(x) is a minimum value DELTAx0 in case of the in-focus state, and this width is increased according as the optical system is getting out of focus. Though the width DELTAx is determined by the circle of confusion of the optical system, the resolving power of an image pickup element, and the band width of a pic ture signal processing circuit, the in-focus or out-of-focus state of the optical system is discriminated by detection of the width DELTAx of the edge pat of the picture signal because said resolving power and band width are independent of the focus state of the optical system. That is, the optical is judged to be in focus in case of DELTAx>DELTAx0, and this judgement is independent of an average brightness of an edge pattern as the object or the contrast.

    • PURPOSE:To make the constitution of a zoom lens compact and suitable for electronic control, by constituting the zoom lens of a fixed lens group and another lens group which changes the power of the zoom when moving in the coaxial direction and providing a variable refracting power element to one of the lens groups. CONSTITUTION:The zoom lens of this invention is composed of an unmovable front lens F, variator V which changes the power of the zoom lens when moving in the coaxial direction, unmovable relay lens R, and unmovable compensator C' equipped with available refracting power element which changes the refrac tive index by changing the shape of the lens surface. To an infinite object, the compensator C' is set to a negative value at the wide angle and telephoto ends and to a near object, the refracting power of the compensator C' is further made smaller. Therefore, the image surface of the entire system can always be maintained constantly irrespectively of the change in the variable power and object distance by the movement of the variator V by changing the refract ing power of the variable refracting power element in such a way, and high- speed auto-focus control can be performed with a small-sized and simple constitu tion.

    • PURPOSE:To simolify a process for production and to reduce cost by injecting plural kinds of monomers having different rates of polymn. into the hollow parts of a vessel having the many hollow parts and polymerizing the monomers thereby forming single lenses each having a refractive index distribution at one time. CONSTITUTION:A flat plate 3 consisting of glass, etc. is adhered to one end face of the vessel 1 having the many arrayed cylindrical hollow parts 2. Plural kinds of the monomers having respectively different rates of polymn. are injected into the parts 2. The monomers injected therein are polymerized by suitable means, for example, irradiation of light, addition of a catalyst and polymn. initiator, heating or the like. The polymn. is executed in such a manner that the rate of polymn. near the inside wall of the parts 2 is made larger than the rate of polymn. near the central axis. The concentrical cylindrical refractive index distribution in which the refractive index is higher at the center and is lower at the peripheral is generated in each central part 2 and the function as a distributed index lens is obtd. The production of the array lenses at one time is thus made possible.
