    • An image heating apparatus includes a rotatable image heating member for heating an image on a recording material; a pressing member for forming a nip, with the image heating member, in which the recording material is nipped and conveyed; heating means for heating a part of the image heating member; drive means for rotationally driving the image heating member; contacting-and-separating means for contacting and separating said image heating member and said pressing member relative to each other; standby control means for heating said image heating member in a predetermined period, while said image heating member is rotated, in a state of separation between said image heating member and said pressing member during standby; and pressing operation control means for contacting said image heating member and said pressing member, wherein when an image forming signal is inputted in the predetermined period during the standby, said image heating member and said pressing member are contacted after heating of said image heating member is stopped and then rotation of said image heating member is stopped.

A rough/fine motion focusing mechanism is disposed rearward of the stage, for moving the objective lens switching mechanism along the observation optical axis in rough motion and fine motion. A first rough motion handle and a first fine motion handle are provided near the rough/fine motion focusing mechanism, for operating the rough/fine motion focusing mechanism. A rough/fine motion focusing operation portion is provided for operating the rough/fine motion focusing mechanism and includes a second rough motion handle and a second fine motion handle provided near a front end of the base portion. And a linkage mechanism is provided for linking the rough/fine motion focusing mechanism with the rough/fine motion focusing operation portion.

    • A stationary member is fixed to a microscope. A movable member holds a sample and can move in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis of the microscope. A stepping motor moves the movable member. A rotation of the stepping motor is transmitted to the movable member by a power transmitter. An origin detector detects the movable member being positioned in an origin. A control unit controls the position of the movable member based on a signal from the origin detector and the number of driving pulses of the stepping motor. A power transmitter includes a reducer having a spur gear which reduces a speed of the rotation of the stepping motor, and an urging unit which applies a rotation force to the spur gear in one direction in a movement range of the movable member.
