In one embodiment of the present invention, a computer-implemented method includes reading an identifier respectively associated with at least some of a total number of items. The computer determines a number of identifiers associated with the recyclable items. The computer also receives the total number of items, and computes the relative quantity of recyclable items by dividing the number of identifiers associated with the recyclable items by the total number of items.

摘要： A three-dimensional selectively actuating interface system includes mating complementary raised and recessed surfaces, which may be projected in the shape of an indicium, such as a trade logo or trade mark, to limit the number of spatial relationships at which two sub-parts of an assembly may be assembled. Additional complementary opposing surface irregularities disposed on the raised and recessed surfaces provide a further mechanical restriction in a height direction on the number of possible spatial relationships at which the two sub-parts may be matably assembled. Combined, there is only a single spatial orientation at which the two sub-parts may be assembled. In addition, an electronic switching or detection system may be implemented, which is activated by the proper mating of the two sub-parts. The detection system acts an electronic switch for turning on (or off) another system coupled to the assembly.

摘要： The present invention is a TV hearing system that generally includes an analog or digital TV broadcast signal feeding a hearing health interface that subsequently drives the input of a standard television. The hearing health interface further includes a receiver, a digital signal processor (DSP) logic block, a driver, an input/output (I/O) device, and optionally a direct audio driver and/or a radio frequency (RF) transmitter. Pre-established data representing a personal hearing profile of a hearing impaired user that includes correction factors for compensating for the hearing problem is supplied to the DSP logic block. The DSP logic block then selectively modifies the audio relating to the TV broadcast and presents the enhanced audio to the user. Additionally, the present invention includes a business method of establishing a hearing health network to which users may subscribe.

摘要： A First Responder Communications System (FRCS), also referred to as an Automated Incident Control System, is provided that supports inter-agency and intra-agency communications among first responders including fire, police, border patrol, emergency medical service, safety, and/or other agencies. The FRCS also increases situational awareness of personnel by automatically providing position information as well as other sensor information. The FRCS also provides position and time information via Global Positioning System (GPS) and/or other positioning systems, and data from deployed and/or personal sensors to provide enhanced communications, command and control capabilities to the first responders and incident command. The FRCS includes a heads up display (HUD) including one or more LEDs or LCDs and a signal receiver that attaches to a faceshield or windshield (shield) to receive/display instructions via an electromagnetic or sonic signal via a transmitter coupled to a computer or other source.
