摘要： A water-based ink for ink-jet recording enables the expression of sharp text and lines in high density black, and the formation of a high quality gradation image in which the graininess is reduced in a black image of medium to high lightness. The inks include a color ink (A) and a color ink (B) each of which independently has a lightness index L* according to the L* a* b* calorimetric system of about 60 or less. The color ink (A) and the color ink (B) satisfy the following expression (I): about 120°≦|α−β| about ≦240° (I) wherein α is the hue angle of the color ink (A) and β is the hue angle of the color ink (B). The chroma C* of a hue obtained by the combination of the color ink (A) and the color ink (B) is about 30 or less.

摘要： A water base pigment ink for ink-jet recording contains a pigment, water, and at least one of polyethylene glycol and diglycerol. The ink is solidified into a solid matter when the water is evaporated. Further, the solid matter is redissolved in the unsolidified water base pigment ink for ink-jet recording. When the ink is used, then neither clog-up of a nozzle nor discharge failure is caused, no load is imposed by the solidified ink on the maintenance system such as the wiping equipment, and the sticking performance on the paper is satisfactory.

Experimental evaluation using the recording head regarding jetting stability, jetting response, quality of the recorded images, friction resistance against various recording materials, and water resistance against various recording materials is made, and good results are obtained.

摘要： An inventive ink comprises a water-soluble dye or a pigment as a coloring agent, 5 to 15% by weight of polyvalent alcohol monoalkyl ether selected from the group consisting of tetraethylene glycol monoalkyl ethers and pentaethylene glycol monoalkyl ethers, 5 to 50% by weight of polyvalent alcohol, and pure water. When recording is performed in accordance with the ink-jet recording system by using the inventive ink, an excellent result is obtained from any viewpoint concerning, for example, the recording characteristic, the fixation to an objective recording material, the quick drying characteristic, the printing quality characteristic, and the low odor characteristic. The inventive ink is useful as an ink to be used for ink-jet recording apparatuses based on various recording systems, making it possible to obtain an excellent recording result.

According to this ink set, graininess in a low density printed part can be reduced without reducing a color reproduction range in red and magenta directions in a high density printed part. In addition, the color reproduction range in the red direction can be extended to improve the vividness of red color. The water-based ink set for ink-jet recording includes a magenta ink and a red ink. The magenta ink is a light magenta ink having a lightness (L*) of about 50 or more in the L*a*b* colorimetric system. Preferably, the ink set further includes a light cyan ink having a lightness (L*) of about 60 or more and a blue ink and/or a green ink.
