摘要： This invention relates to a process for producing ethylidene diacetate by th e reaction of dimethyl ether, acetic acid, hydrogen and carbon monoxide at ele vated temperatures and pressures in the presence of an alkyl halide and a heteroge neous, bifunctional catalyst that is stable to hydrogenation and comprises an insol uble polymer having pendant quaternized heteroatoms, some of which heteroatoms are ionica lly bonded to anionic Group VIII metal complexes, the remainder of the heteroato ms being bonded to iodide. In contrast to prior art processes, no accelerator (promot er) is necessary to achieve the catalytic reaction and the products are easily sepa rated from the catalyst by filtration. The catalyst can be recycled for 3 consecutive r uns without loss in activity.

摘要： Acetic anhydride is produced by reaction of methyl acetate (or dimethyl ether and acetic acid), carbon monoxide, and hydrogen in the presence of an alkyl halide and a heterogeneous, bifunctional catalyst that contains an insoluble polymer having pendant quaternized phosphine groups, some of which phosphine groups are ionically bonded to anionic Group 9 or 10 (post-1986 IUPAC-recommended nomenclature) metal complexes, the remainder of the phosphine groups being bonded to iodide. In contrast to prior art processes, no accelerator (promoter) is necessary to achieve the catalytic reaction and the products are easily separated from the catalyst by filtration.

摘要： N-vinyl-O-methyl carbamate is formed preferentially by heating dimethyl ethylidene dicarbamate in the liquid phase at a temperature of 155 DEG to 350 DEG C. and at a pressure which permits the vinyl carbamate to vaporize as it is formed. This vinyl carbamate is quickly condensed and can then be separated from the methyl carbamate which also emanates from the liquid phase. The yield of N-vinyl-O-methyl carbamate is enhanced by including carbon in the liquid phase in contact with the dimethyl ethylidene dicarbamate as it is pyrolyzed. Using carbon in the same manner is advantageous in producing other lower alkyl N-vinyl-O-alkyl carbamates. Preferably the carbon has a surface area of 300 to 1500 m2/g and is present in an amount such that the weight ratio of dialkyl ethylidene dicarbamate to carbon is in the range of 50 to 500. The product is a monomer which can be used in making amine-functional polymers.

摘要： Dimethyl ethylidene dicarbamate is formed in high yield by acid catalyzed reaction of acetaldehyde and methyl carbamate. Dialkyl ethylidene dicarbamates can be produced in nearly quantitative yield from alkyl carbamates reacted with acetaldehyde in the liquid phase by precipitating a reaction product from the reactant mixture and rousing the mother liquor from this separation in a subsequent reaction of the same nature or in a continuous process recycling the mother liquor to the reaction zone. The dialkyl ethylidene dicarbamates are useful in the formation of vinyl isocyanates or N-vinyl-O-methyl carbamate which can be polymerized to form a polymer hydrolyzable to an amine-functional polymer.
