    • 본 발명은 공기조화기 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 목적은 두개의 압축기를 3단계로 운전방식을 제어하여 냉방능력의 활용도를 높이고 소비전력을 최소화 할 수 있는 공기조화기 및 그 제어방법을 제공함에 있다.
      또한 본 발명의 다른 목적은 압축기의 운전방식에 따라 공기 토출구의 위치 및 면적을 3단계로 제어하여 적절한 토출온도를 유지하고, 쾌적한 실내환경을 조성할 수 있는 공기조화기 및 그 제어방법을 제공함에 있다.
      이를 위해 본 발명은 두개의 압축기를 이용하여 냉매의 용량을 가변 시킬 수 있는 공기조화기의 제어방법에 있어서, 상기 복수의 압축기 중 용량이 작은 제1압축기를 구동 시키는 제1운전모드와, 용량이 큰 제2압축기를 구동 시키는 제2운전모드와, 상기 제1압축기 및 제2압축기를 구동 시키는 제3운전모드로 운전단계가 제어되는 것을 특징으로 한다.

    • A variable capacity rotary compressor is provided to minimize impact between a first vane and a first roller since the first vane makes movement to the first roller side when they are closest to each other. A variable capacity rotary compressor comprises a housing, first and second rollers(42,52), first and second vanes(43,53), first and second vane guide grooves(44,54), and a vane control device(60). The housing is provided with first and second compression chambers(31,32) that are divided from each other. The first and second rollers are rotatably installed inside the first and second compression chambers respectively with opposite offset directions. The first and second vanes make advancing and retreating movement respectively by the rotation of the first and second rollers. The first and second vane guide grooves are formed in the housing for guiding retreating movement of the first and second vanes. The vane control device is capable of controlling the operation of the first vane. The first vane guide groove is provided with a closed chamber on a rear side of the first vane. The vane control device includes a connection path(61) connected to the closed chamber of the first vane guide groove, a high pressure path(65) connecting the connection path to the second vane guide groove, a low pressure path connecting the connection path to a suction side of the compressor, and a control valve(64) allowing the connection path to make selective connection with either the low pressure path or high pressure path. The inlet of the high pressure path is opened and closed by advancing and retreating movement of the second vane.
