    • The invention relates to a gas producer for a seat belt take-up power generating device which supplies power to an emergency retracting device of the seat belt take-up power generating device, and is directed to enabling concentrating flame in a small-diameter conduit upon operation of a detonator, rapidly supplying heat to a gas producing agent chamber, preventing dampening of an igniting agent and a driving agent in the gas producing agent chamber, and positively effecting ignition of the ignition agent and the driving agent. The gas producer comprises a cylindrical casing (7) opened at one side thereof, a cylindrical holder chamber (12) formed on one side of the casing, a gas producing agent chamber (13) contiguous to the holder chamber through a stepped portion (8) formed on an inner wall surface of the casing and having a smaller diameter than that of the inner wall surface of the casing, an ignition agent (20) and a driving agent (21) received in the gas producing agent chamber, a detonator holder (15) received in the holder chamber and having a detonator chamber (16) which is opened to one side of the casing, a caulking portion (14) formed on one side of the casing to retain the detonator holder, a detonator (18) held in the detonator chamber and a small-diameter conduit (17) formed in the detonator holder to allow the gas producing agent chamber and the detonator chamber to communicate with each other and formed at the end of the detonator chamber with an inverted conical tapered portion of a taper angle of 60 DEG to 120 DEG .

    • A pack for a gas generating agent for a gas generating device for expanding an airbag that is used to form a combustion chamber in the gas generating device for expanding an airbag, the pack being intended to remarkably improve its reliability for ignition performance through a simple construction, compared with a conventional pack. In the present invention, a plurality of gas generating agents (71) having through holes (69) formed in the central portions thereof are stored in a laminated state in a long cylindrical pack (67) in the axial direction thereof. One side of the cylindrical pack is sealed by means of a cap (73), and an ignitor receiving projecting portion (77) formed at the center of this cap in such a manner as to project therefrom is inserted into a through hole (81) in the gas generating agent disposed at one end of the cylindrical pack. Furthermore, ignition powder (85) is disposed in the through hole in the gas generating agent disposed at the one end of the cylindrical pack in such a manner as to be adjacent to the end face of the projecting portion of the cap.
