摘要： In order to prevent theft of a vehicle, the front seat is movable into a position where it impedes access to the vehicle controls and only once it has reached that position is locked in place. Two methods of locking the seat are disclosed. The first method (Figure 3) comprises a lever 21, turnable by lock barrel 22, which is coupled to one or both of bolts 23 and 24. Tilting seat back 11 forward relative to squab 12 causes rotation of cam 28 into a position where bolt 23 may be displaced upwards to lock the seat back. Similarly alignment of the seat squab with a recess (30) in the seat track 15, enables bolt 24 to be displaced downwards into the recess. Thus once the seat has been moved into the required position, rotation of barrel 22 serves to simultaneously lock the seat squab to the track and lock the seat back in its forward tilted position. In the second method (Figure 9), the seat back is first tilted forward, aligning recess 121 with channel 27. Ramp 140 is fixed to the seat track and displaces spring loaded bolt 124 upwards and into engagement with recess 121 as the seat is moved forward along the track. Locking of the seat squab to the track is achieved once the bolt is urged into detent 142 under the action of the spring. To unlock the seat again, cam 144 is rotated, lowering the ramp allowing bolt 124 to be released from the detent.

摘要： The apparatus comprises a housing 2 which can be bolted at 2a to the inlet valve 10 of a manway cover 11 in the base 15 of the tank. The housing 2 has an internal bore within which a sealing piston assembly 3,4,5 is received. The piston assembly carries an S-shaped nozzle 16 which enters the tank via access opening 12 when the piston assembly is driven, by a hydraulic ram, along the housing 2 and through the valve 10. The housing 2 and piston assembly are bolted together by means of flanges 2b,4a. The nozzle is supplied with oil under pressure so that a jet of oil is discharged within the tank. The oil can be discharged in a fan-shaped pattern by pivoting the nozzle hydraulically.

摘要： Apparatus for separating oil and sludge comprises a cylindrical vortex tank 26 having an inlet 24 for sludge bearing oil, the inlet being arranged to cause swirling of the oil/sludge to form a vortex 28. Centrifugally separated sludge falls to the bottom of the tank where it is swirled by steam from injector 25b. The sludge then leaves the tank through outlet 20a to enter a drying-extraction vessel 12 where it is dried by steam and vacuum before being discharged. The oil is further treated by steam through inlet 25a which maintains the vortex. The oil/steam mixture then passes through slits in tubular wall 31 and rises through a series of tilted cones with the oil being removed at the top, the cones having openings for water drainage. Alternatively, the oil/steam vortex may be fed to a further vortex chamber for separation.

摘要： Flow speed is derived from the continuous oscillation frequency of a system comprising a temperature sensor 4 situated downstream of and in the thermal wake of an electric heater 3 in the flowing fluid. The output signal from the sensor 4 is processed by electronic means 5 which provides power to energise the heater. The oscillating circuit is completed by the travelling thermal wave in the fluid downstream of the heater. Arrangements also indicating flow direction and providing temperature compensation are described. The invention may be used to measure flow in pipes over a wide range of flow speeds and is suited for use in measuring very small flows with high accuracy. Wind speed may also be measured.

摘要： An Indicator is arranged to indicate when an area has been impacted; the area capable of giving that indication being greater than the impacted area. The Indicator is primed by the application of external pressure on the transparent top 1 of an air-tight container which causes internal air pressure to contract and distort evenly spaced independent air-filled envelopes 3 causing them to reveal surfaces of a different colour and at the same time hiding surfaces of the original colour. When the air pressure is released by impaction the envelopes expand to regain their original shape and colour.
