    • Disclosed is a fringe field switching mode transflective liquid crystal display capable of displaying high quality images. The transflective liquid crystal display includes a lower substrate having a counter electrode and a pixel electrode, an upper substrate aligned in opposition to the lower substrate by interposing a liquid crystal layer therebetween, an upper polarizing plate, a lower polarizing plate, a reflective plate provided at an inner portion of the lower substrate, a lower λ/2 plate, and an upper λ/2 plate. An inclination angle, a slit width and a slit interval of the pixel electrode of the reflective area are different from those of the pixel electrode of the transmissive area. The liquid crystal layer presents a phase delay of about 0 to λ/4 in the reflective area and presents a phase delay of about 0 to λ/2 in the transmissive area.

    • A cooking apparatus and a method of controlling the cooking apparatus allow a temperature distribution of hot air to be uniform in a cooking cavity so that food in the cooking cavity is uniformly cooked, and enables initial heating of the air in the cooking cavity to be rapidly accomplished so that a cooking time is reduced. The cooking apparatus includes a cooking cavity, and first and second convection modules. The cooking cavity cooks food contained therein. The first convection module heats air in the cooking cavity and circulates the heated air. The second convection module is placed to be opposite to the first convection module so as to heat the air and circulate the heated air.

    • Provided is a Nd-based two-phase separation amorphous alloy by adding an element having a big difference in heat of mixing in a Nd-based alloy with a superior amorphous formability through an inherent characteristic of compositional elements and consideration of thermodynamics, at the time of forming amorphous phase, to thereby enable two-phase separation amorphous alloy during solidification. The Nd-based two-phase separation amorphous alloy is represented as a general equation Nd100-a-b(TM)a(D)b wherein TM is a combination selected from A-B, A-C and B—C when an element group of A consists of Y, Ti, Zr, La, Pr, Gd and Hf, an element group of B consists of Fe and Mn, and an element group of C consists of Co, Ni, Cu and Ag, wherein the content of the element group which constitutes the combination is 5 atomic weight % or greater, and the element selected from each of the element group is at least one element, and the content of one element selected from each of the element group does not exceed 50 atomic weight %, wherein the content of the element group of B is less than that of the element group of C when TM is a B—C combination, and wherein D is at least one selected from the group consisting of Al, B, Si and P, and a and b have the range of 20≦a≦70, 5≦b≦30, and a+b≧40 in terms of atomic weight %.
