    • A power combining arrangement includes an input divider waveguide and an output combiner waveguide, and a first and second amplifier. The power combining arrangement is configured to amplify RF energy having a characteristic wavelength λ. The first amplifier has a first input electrically coupled with a first output port of the divider waveguide. The second amplifier has a second input electrically coupled with a second output port of the divider waveguide. The first and second output ports are separated by a first distance corresponding to a phase delay 01; the first distance being selected substantially independently of the characteristic wavelength. The first amplifier has a first output electrically coupled with a first input port of the combiner waveguide and the second amplifier has a second output electrically coupled with a second input port of the combiner waveguide. The first and second input ports are separated by the first distance.

    • Techniques are disclosed for updating an array of display elements of an electronic display. The electronic display, which may be an interferometric modulator (IMOD) display, includes an array of display elements that is updated, at a frame update rate, on a frame by frame basis. Each frame includes data to be written to a plurality of pixel rows, each pixel row including at least a respective first display element line (DEL) of a first color and a respective second DEL of a second color. A processor compares display data for each pixel row in a first frame with display data for a corresponding pixel row in a comparison frame, and updates only selected DEL's based on the comparison. A polarity of a bias voltage of a subset of DEL's in the display, is periodically inverted, the subset of DEL's being substantially fewer than all of the DEL's.

    • This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for two dimensional position determination of an object. In one aspect, a first electromagnetic (EM) radiation and a second EM radiation is emitted, along a plane, toward a position-sensing region, the first and second EM radiation each having a respective, different, wavelength. Scattered radiation, resulting from interaction of the emitted first and second EM radiation with an object located in the position-sensing region, is detected. Characteristics of the detected scattered radiation have a correlation with a position of the object in the position-sensing region. A two dimensional position of the object is determined, from the correlation. The position-sensing region may be co-planar with, and/or disposed proximate and parallel to an external surface of a display screen.
