      SOLUTION: In an application method for forming a water absorption inhibiting layer on the surface of porous material for civil engineering and construction, the water absorption inhibitor for civil engineering and construction which has a volume median diameter of droplet of 0.3 to 1.7 mm and comprises alkylalkoxysilane and/or a condensate of the alkylalkoxysilane, and silica.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the silicone emulsion composition which has excellent stability, after diluted, and excellent storability by using a specific surfactant for the production of a silicone emulsion .
      SOLUTION: This silicone emulsion composition comprises (A) 1 to 98.9 wt.% of a silicone, (B) 0.1 to 50 wt.% of a surfactant, and (C) 1 to 98.9 wt.% of water. Therein, (B) the surfactant is a nonionic surfactant comprising alkyl chains and a polyoxyalkylene chain. The alkyl chain has 12 to 20 carbon atoms. The polyoxyalkylene chain contains 1 to 100 oxyethylene units and 1 to 100 oxyalkylene units each having 3 to 10 carbon atoms. The number of the oxyethylene units is larger than the number of the oxyalkylene units each having 3 to 10 carbon atoms.
