    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inhibiting the expression or activity of an adhesion molecule associated with an endothelial cell by bringing the adhesion molecule or the endothelial cell into contact with one or more isoflavone compounds or derivatives thereof. SOLUTION: Disclosed are a method of preventing or reducing a risk of restenosis after angioplasty by bringing an adhesion molecule or an endothelial cell into contact with one or more isoflavone compounds or derivatives thereof to thereby inhibit expression or activity of the adhesion molecule associated with the endothelial cell, and a method of the treatment or prophylaxis of atherosclerosis, coronary artery diseases, other cardiovascular diseases and inflammatory diseases mediated by the adhesion molecules.
