摘要： PURPOSE:To lessen eddy current loss and stabilize beam acceleration by continuously winding a metal sheet in the form of long, narrow tape helically, giving it a uniform shape throughout the total length, and consolidating by means of welding. CONSTITUTION:A metal plate 6 in the form of a thin tape is closely wound from, for ex., stainless steel plate continuously so as to have a uniform profile throughout the total length of a pipeline and consolidated by welding along helical line to accomplish an air-tight structure. Ribs 2 are to reinforce it. In fabrication the metal plate 6 is wound on a jig 7 and formed into desired radius of curvature and profile. Winding and shaping of this tape-shaped metal plate 6 is easier with smaller plate thickness, and eddy current loss can be lowered remarkably. Even a pipeline with smaller radius of curvature of the beam locus can be given a uniform profile and formed gradually, so that the beam acceleration can be made stably.
