    • A circuit which can be appliqued to external terminals of a prior art key telephone line circuit to protect the circuit from prematurely cancelling a customer-applied holding condition when the central office exhibits an open switching interval (OSI) condition is described. The appliqued circuit monitors a contact of the key system hold relay, and when that relay is released by the appearance of an OSI condition, temporarily reconnects the winding of the hold relay across the line so that the hold relay can respond to the reappearance of central office line current if it appears after a normal OSI interval and which disconnects the hold relay if line current does not appear as during a permanent signal condition.

    • The NAT type of a router can be examined by communicating with one server having one IP address, and a P2P communication path is established efficiently using the NAT type obtained by the examination.     • In a key telephone system with a plurality of four-wire key telephone sets wherein a two-wire telephone set is connected to a main control device via a pair of speech lines so that intercom speech and office line speech are possible between the two-wire telephone set and other key telephone sets, the improvement wherein said main control device comprises a call signal generating circuit, first transfer switching means for transfer-connecting said speech lines between a pair of office speech lines and a pair of intercom speech lines, second transfer switching means for transfer-connecting said speech lines between said call signal generating circuit and said first transfer switching means, DC loop supervisory means for supervising a DC loop of said speech lines, and a control circuit inputted with an output of said DC loop supervisory means for controlling said first and second transfer switching means in accordance with the states of said office lines. Under a normal state the speech lines are connected to the intercom speech lines through the first and second transfer switching means. At the time of arrival of an office line call signal the second transfer switching means is switched to send the call signal to the speech lines. Thereafter the second transfer switching means is reset and the first transfer switching means is switched to the office line speech lines in accordance with the output of the loop supervisory means.

    • There is disclosed an improved hold circuit arrangement for controlling the hold function in a key telephone line circuit without introducing an undesired series impedance in the longitudinal path of the telephone line during any of the line circuit's normal operating states. The improved circuit arrangement employs a combination of an opto-coupled energizing circuit for detecting and responding to the presence of d.c. current on the telephone line during the hold state and two miniature relays which operate to establish a condition of electrical isolation between the opto-coupled energizing circuit and the longitudinal path of the telephone line in all operating states except during the momentary transition from the line busy to the line hold state. In another embodiment of this invention, logic circuitry is associated with the opto-coupled energizing circuit to provide lamp control indicative of the line state. The invention reduces the overall cost and profile of the line circuit while providing a means for eliminating a common cause of longitudinal imbalance during the hold state characteristic of conventional line circuit technology.

    • The present invention is directed to a multiple line telephone instrument operative over a pair of data conductors and a pair of speech conductors using time division principles. The data pair transmits line condition signaling and control using an asynchronous sixteen bit binary code while the speech and dialing information is sent over the speech pair of conductors in standard analog format for translation to PCM code within the system (not shown herein). Line condition signaling between an instrument and its group logic circuit or group processor is in parallel over the data pair. Incoming line condition signaling information is used to generate an audible signal and to illuminate a selected lamp representing the desired line. Outgoing line condition signaling is encoded in diphase code using a square wave of a second frequency to represent a binary zero. The outgoing encoding ensures that only one or the other binary signal is sent and to ensure that the signals are sent in diphase mode.

    • A telephone signaling interface (I1) enables compatible communications between a modified telephone station set (S1) and a key telephone system (KTS1). Separate alternating voltage control signals from the key telephone system (KTS1) are amplitude and polarity modulated and combined by the interface (I1) to provide ringing, switchhook supervision and visual signaling to station set (S1) over a single signaling wire pair (C1).
