    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a saw which keeps a good cutting property over a long period, can easily cut an object which can hardly be cut by a conventional saw, and is resistant to the adhesion of sap on blade faces in cutting raw wood and capable of smooth cutting and a method for manufacturing the saw. SOLUTION: A saw is formed by a process in which both sides of a saw blade 2 are coated with a surface hardening layer 3, the layer 3 excluding a part of the edge part of the saw blade 2 has a rough surface 5 having minute unevenness, a coat layer 4 is formed on the rough surface 5, and layer 3 is formed on both sides of the saw in which saw teeth are formed in the blade part and the saw body 2, a process in which the edge part 1 of the saw blade 2 of the layer 3 is shielded, a process in which a rough surface having minute unevenness is formed in a part other than the shielded edge part 1, a process in which the shield is removed after the rough surface being formed, a process in which the coat layer 4 for repelling sap is applied on the rough surface 5, a process in which saw teeth 5 are formed in the edge part 1, a process in which the saw teeth are sharpened, and a process in which the saw teeth are subjected to heat treatment.

    • PURPOSE:To raise efficiency in saw tooth cutting and obtain uniform machining of all teeth, by machining at the same time the cutting edges and back edges of adjacent two saw teeth always with the peripheral section of one cutting wheel. CONSTITUTION:The tooth of a crosscut saw consists of cutting edge 4, back edge 5, and top edge 9, the three edges, and adjacent teeth have the same structure but are in opposite relation, front and back alternating. The machining process for saw teeth consists of two cuttings, the cutting of the cutting edges and back edges and the cutting of top edges. A cutting wheel 2 with a V-shaped tapered periphery faces forms into a saw material 3 a cutting edge 4 and a back edge 5 in every other tooth positions, then the material 3 is turned around and edges 4 and 5 are formed in the length of the material 3. Next, top edges 9 are formed on edges 4 and 5 by a top edge machining device.
