A buckrake has curved tines 1 which, as the rake is lifted by the tractor draft links, pivot in an anti-clockwise direction and so form a pocket for the load. The tines are interconnected by cross-members 2, 3 which are secured to a member 5 to which a latch-carrying stirrup 7 is pivoted at 6. The lower draft links are pivoted to a pair of spaced lugs 4 and the upper link is pivoted to the stirrup.

Bar 1 is attached at 4 to the lower end of a pair of conveying links 20, 21 suspended from .the lift arms 18, 19 and is held against horizontal pivoting by a pin 15 which engages a longitudinal slot in the bar and is supported by converging arms 16 pivoted to the tractor at 17.

The hopper is provided with a detachable rotary manure spreader 58 driven from the tractor wheels by a belt or chain 60, and has a rear wall 61 which is hinged at 62 and is retained in the full line position by a latch mechanism 63. The loading fork 19 may be replaced by a bucket or scoop.

A stacking attachment for a tractor has a push plate 24 for discharging the tines 22 which is extended from the position shown in full line to that shown in dotted line by a hydraulically actuated link mechanism which provides maximum leverage on the plate to initiate its push-off stroke, a rapid movement at the start of the stroke, and a progressive reduction of speed during the stroke. The plate 24 is secured to a pair of spaced "Y" frames 63 pivoted to arms 61 which are attached to an eccentrically pivoted rock shaft 53 together with a bell-crank-lever 73, 76 which is pivoted at 77 to a hydraulic jack 79 and at 71 to a sleeve 69. The jack is also pivoted to this sleeve at 82 and, on extension of the jack, the sleeve slides down a pivoted guide 66 to the position shown in dotted line. A progressive variation in the speed of rotation of the rock shaft 53 is effected by the jack operating on the long arm 73 only at the start of the push off stroke, and by subsequent operation on first both arms and' finally the short arm 76 only. The plate 24 is guided by a pair of V-. shaped straps 28 secured thereto and which engage a pair of tines 22. The complete assembly is secured to a pair of arms 10 which are luffed by a pair of hydraulic jacks (not shown) which are secured to the tractor and operate on the arms through a rope and pulley. Adjustable straps 38 enable the angular position of tines 22 to be altered.

A wheeled hay-sweep is supported on the power-lift links of a tractor when picking up a load and runs on its own castor wheels l when loaded. The sweep has tines a secured to transversals b, c supporting a back rack to which the lifting- links g, h are secured. The castors l are mounted at the ends of half-axles j, carried in bearings i secured to the beam c. The axles have portions of circular crosssection alternating with square-section parts which can slide axially but non- rotatably in the bearings. The ends of the axles are connected by links o to a hand lever q. When loading or sweeping, the implement is lowered by the links g, h, and the lever q is manipulated to engage the round axle-sections with the bearings, thus permitting the sweep to sink on to skids t (Fig. 4).

[Class 78 (iii)] [Also in Group I] A load-handling attachment for a tractor comprises a main frame including a transverse tool-bar 11 having a back-rack 34 and parallel tines 5, the main frame being pivoted by brackets 34 to lifting links 32 on the tractor, and the back-rack being pivoted to a latch arm 47, to which it is normally latched by a releasable latch 43, thus enabling the scoop to be tipped to dump its contents. The links 32 are lifted by the power-lift arms A of the tractor and the upper end of the latch arm 47 is connected by a lever 48 to a fixed pivot 481 on the tractor, the pivot points being so disposed that the tines slope downwardly in the lowered position but are upwardly inclined to retain the load when the scoop is raised. In a modification, Fig. 5, the lift-arms 321 are mounted on the front of the tractor and the latch arm 47 is pivoted to a standard 67 carried on these arms 321. The arms are raised by a winch 75 and tackle 74, 66, and the latch 43 is tripped by a cord 76 accessible to the tractor driver.
