摘要： The present invention provides a fuse unit which facilitates a work such as inspection and a method of manufacturing the fuse unit. Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a fuse unit, which has a metal part including an input terminal and an external connection terminal and a connector part for attaching an external terminal C3 to the external connection terminal and is manufactured by integrating the metal part and a resin covering body by insert molding. In this manufacturing method, the metal part and the resin covering body are integrated by insert molding such that a distal end of the external connection terminal of the metal part protrudes from the resin covering body, and then, the connector part separate from the resin covering body is attached to the resin covering body so that the external connection terminal protruding from the resin covering body can be connected to the external terminal C3.

摘要： The present invention provides a multiple fuse device that is compatible with various ratings and reduces an increase in manufacturing cost. A multiple fuse device includes an input terminal, an external terminal, a bus bar that includes a circuit portion disposed between the input terminal and the external terminal, and a housing that covers the bus bar. The external terminal includes an integral external terminal integrated with the circuit portion with a fusible portion interposed between the integral external terminal and the circuit portion, and a fuse-side external terminal that pairs up with a fuse connection terminal connected to the circuit portion. The fuse connection terminal and the fuse-side external terminal provided in a pair hold a fuse exteriorly in a removable manner, the fuse having a fusible portion connected between the fuse connection terminal and the fuse-side external terminal.

摘要： A fuse unit includes: a bus bar including a plurality of fusible parts interposed between a power supply side terminal and a plurality of load side terminals; and an insulating resin portion formed by insert molding using the bus bar as an insert component. The insulating resin portion includes: first and second resin portions respectively arranged at peripheries on the sides of the power supply side terminal and the load side terminals with respect to the fusible parts; and a plurality of coupling portions coupling the first resin portion and the second resin portion in a position outside each of the fusible parts. Each of the coupling portions is formed such that a reinforcement portion having a lower heat shrinkage rate than the insulating resin portion and having a higher strength than the insulating resin portion is an insert component. The reinforcement portion is provided using the bus bar.

摘要： A fuse for a high voltage/high current application, such as a hydro-electric vehicle (“HEV”) application is provided. The fuse employs a variety of arc quenching features to handle a large amount of arcing energy that is generated when such fuse is opened due to a fuse opening event. In one embodiment, an insulative substrate, such as a melamine substrate, is metallized with a fuse element. The fuse element extends to multiple surfaces of the substrate. A fuse opening portion of the element is located so that the arcing energy is forced to travel along multiple insulative planes, increasing an impedance across the opening of the element and decreasing the likelihood of a sustained arc. Also, the substrate and element are disposed in a sealed housing, which is packed in one embodiment with an arc quenching material, such as sand.
