摘要： An electrostatic information recording medium according to this invention includes an inorganic oxide layer 3 and a photoconductive layer comprising a charge-generating layer 4 and a charge-transport layer 5 laminated onto an electrode 2 in this sequence, as illustrated in FIG. 1. To record information, the information is exposed to light while voltage is being applied between the electrode 3 and another opposite electrode, or alternatively voltage is applied therebetween while the information is being exposed to light.After information recording, the electrostatic information recording medium is uniformly electrified on its surface as by corona charging, whereby the information can be easily reproduced in the form of electrostatic information. This recording medium, if tone-developed, can be used as an original plate for electrostatic printing.

摘要： A converting device, and recording and detecting methods using the same, wherein the converting device includes a converting layer containing a variable electroconductivity material exhibiting electronic charge conduction. The variable electroconductivity material includes: (a) an electroconductivity variation imparting agent which changes its ionic structure when exposed to one of light and heat energy, between nonionic and ionic structures, the electroconductivity variation imparting agent including at least one component selected from spiropyrane compounds, diazonium compounds, derivatives thereof, a mixture of a leuco dye and a halide compound, and an ionic dye; and (b) a charge transport substance, the electroconductivity of which varies in relation to the ionic structural change of the electroconductivity variation imparting agent, the charge transport substance including at least one component selected from an organic or inorganic charge transport material, a .pi.-electron conjugated polymer, and a charge-transfer complex compound; and a pair of electrodes formed on opposite major surfaces of said converting layer.

摘要： Process for reversal development of a latent electrostatic image in a layer on a conductive support by developing with an electrostatic developer having electrostatically charged toner particles by(a) generating imagewise areas in the layer having different rates of charge decay and/or charge acceptance,(b) charging the layer,(c) allowing formation of an electrostatic image corresponding to the imagewise generated areas by differential charge decay and/or charge acceptance,(d) creating an electrical field to attract toner particles preferentially to the areas of lesser charge, and(e) developing the areas of lesser charge with electrostatically charged toner particles having the same polarity as that of the charged layer.The developed image can be transferred to a receptor surface, e.g., paper. The process is useful with many type photosensitive masters in preparing reversal images with the use of only one master, toner and film original.

摘要： Disclosed is a xeroprinting process which comprises(1) providing a xeroprinting master comprising(a) a substrate; and(b) a softenable layer comprising a softenable material, a charge transport material capable of transporting charges of one polarity, and migration marking material situated contiguous to the surface of the softenable layer spaced from the substrate, wherein a portion of the migration marking material has migrated through the softenable layer toward the substrate in imagewise fashion;(2) uniformly charging the xeroprinting master to a polarity opposite to the polarity of the charges that the charge transport material in the softenable layer is capable of transporting;(3) uniformly exposing the charged master to activating radiation, thereby discharging those areas of the master wherein the migration marking material has migrated toward the substrate and forming an electrostatic latent image;(4) developing the electrostatic latent image; and(5) transferring the developed image to a receiver sheet.The process results in greatly enhanced contrast potentials or contrast voltages between the charged and uncharged areas of the master subsequent to exposure to activating radiation, and the charged master can be developed with either liquid developers or dry developers.
