A layer of intumescent material (43) surrounds the conduit and is supported by the housing adjacent the opening. Torsion springs (34) are mounted between the housing and the intumescent material to surround the conduit and are held in a non-operational position by fusible links (41). When the heat of a fire melts the links, each torsion spring acts in a longitudinal plane of the passage to assist the intumescent material to collapse the conduit and seal the passage against advancement of the fire.

摘要： A crimping and cutting device for use on pipes comprises a frame (1) provided at one end with an anvil (4) to locate a pipe (P) during a crimping and cutting operation. The device includes a crimping head (18) and a cutting blade (28) which are movable towards the anvil (4) by, respectively, first and second hydraulic actuators (11, 13). The two actuators are mounted coaxially on the frame (1), with the first actuator (11) being operatively connected to the second actuator (13). In operation, the first actuator (11) is operated to move the second actuator (13) which, in turn, moves the crimping head (18) so as to compress the pipe against the anvil (4). Then the second actuator (13) is operated to move the cutting blade (28) through a passage (35) formed in the crimping head (18) so that the blade cuts through the compressed region of the pipe (P).

摘要： A secure inlet cap protecting the inlets of a fire department connection from blockage and damage. The secure inlet cap includes a cover and lock, each having at least one tab that engages the posts of the swivels of the fire department connection inlets. When fitted over the posts and assembled with tamper-proof fasteners, the secure inlet cap securely prevents access to the inlet. In non-emergency situations, the secure inlet cap may be removed without damage by removing the fasteners. The lock includes a tool slot receiving a tool that allows the secure inlet cap to be quickly pried loose by applying force to the fasteners. Deformable areas in the cover give way when sufficient prying force is applied breaking the hold between the fasteners and the cover and allowing the cover and the lock to be separated and removed from the swivel.

摘要： An oxygen administration apparatus comprises a source of oxygen, an oxygen administration device, a flexible oxygen-conducting tubing connectable at one end to the source of oxygen and an other end to the oxygen administration device. The connections are made through first and second firebreaks. The firebreaks and are valves that both contain a fusible stop. In the event of a fire in the vicinity of either firebreak, the resultant heat causes its stop to fuse. Thus, the supply of oxygen to the fire is stopped. The firebreaks both have connecting ends of different configuration. The first firebreak is also of different configuration from the second firebreak.
