    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at a low cost an air-conditioning system for a vessel cabin capable of air-conditioning the vessel cabin surely with simple construction and capable of performing maintenance easily.
      SOLUTION: The air-conditioner 10 for a vessel cabin is constituted to comprise an inside-cabin air conditioning unit 12 installed inside the cabin R and with only a heat exchanger 24 and an air blower 26 furnished and integrated in a hollow case body 28, an outside-cabin air conditioning unit 14 installed outside the cabin T and with only the heat exchanger 24 and the air blower 26 furnished and integrated in the hollow case body 28, a compressor unit 16 installed outside the cabin T, medium piping 18, 19, 20 installed between the inside-cabin air conditioning unit 12 and the outside-cabin air conditioning unit 14 and between the compressor unit 16 and the inside-cabin air conditioning unit 12 and the outside-cabin air conditioning unit 14 respectively, and a portable power source apparatus 22 supplying electric power for driving the outside-cabin air conditioning unit 14, the inside-cabin air conditioning unit 12, and the compressor unit 16 respectively.

    • Novel precast concrete boxes are disclosed which can be assembled together and/or with structural shapes disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 5,697,736 and 6,491,473 to form waterfront structures such as seawalls, boathouses and the like. Novel methods of waterborne transport and installation of the boxes are disclosed, including modular vessels having bow and stern sections which can be connected directly together or mounted to a mid-section containing assemblies of concrete boxes, other structural elements or other vessels such as floating drydocks. Modular vessels can be assembled with any or all of the bow, midship and stern sections comprising honeycomb arrays of vertically-oriented hexagonal boxes.

    • An apparatus having a variety of applications is provided for indexing a rotary component. The apparatus of the present invention includes a housing, a resilient electrically conductive band contained within the housing and connected to the rotary component, at least two indexing electrical contacts located on the housing internal periphery and is slidable contact with the band, and a bridging electrical contact electrically connected to the band while the band rotates. The band exerts a biasing force on the housing, thereby mainaining band contact with the housing internal periphery, while also causing a point of separation of the band from the housing. Drive means is provided for rotating the band within the housing. Finally, electrical circuit means, including electrical supply means and switching means, are provided for selecting one indexing contact and applying power through the drive means to rotate the band and the rotary component until the band disengages from the selected indexing contact, thus halting further movement of the band and rotary component.
